One week away from their postseason, the Sooners need a lift in the worst way. They have dropped four of their past five games, and appear to be showing the signs of an injury-marred season.
What they need is to hit some sort of stride, especially on offense.
That might prove difficult on Saturday. The Jayhawks have a losing Big 12 record, but they have the league's best field-goal percentage defense. It was a problem for OU in an 81-71 loss in Lawrence two weeks ago. The Sooners shot 27 percent in the first half. By the time Aaryn Ellenberg (21 points), Nicole Griffin (17) and Joanna McFarland (16) got going, their team was in too deep a hole.
McFarland is one of three seniors in the program who will be honored on Senior Night. She'll be joined by Jasmine Hartman and Whitney Hand, who suffered the second season-ending knee injury of her career in December.
