Letter to the Editor: Horse killers

Once again the Oklahoma Legislature has made so many of us proud. We will allow a slaughterhouse for horses. This is something no other state would touch. Let me turn this into something that perhaps you will understand. To paraphrase Jesus, whatever you do for the least ... well to me, that means animals also.
For a state that needs all the help it can get to better its reputation, this is just one more thing that doesn't do us any good. I would love to say to people that I'm proud of my state for its strides in education, health care, jobs, etc., but I cannot. I can, however, proudly state that we kill horses.
