An Okmulgee man who had been sought by Tulsa police for failing to appear in court on a child abuse charge was arrested Tuesday.

Timothy Michael Wayne Gee, 23, was booked into the Tulsa Jail just before 5 p.m. on a child abuse complaint, jail records show.

Gee, who was charged in Tulsa County District Court in June, is accused of causing multiple bruises to his 3-year-old son between April 15 and April 22, court documents indicate.

A doctor who examined the toddler discovered a number of bruises on his body that included injuries to both ears, left arm, lower back, mouth and buttocks that were consistent with spanking, a police report said.

During an interview with investigators, Gee reportedly said that he disciplined the boy when he becomes angry and allegedly admitted feeling he over disciplines, the report said.

Gee also said that he spanked his son two to three times a day and that he spanks the boy "whenever he can if he squirms," the affidavit states.

A social worker was informed by Gee's girlfriend that he assaulted her and threatened violence when she attempted to confront him about the nature of his discipline.

Gee was named the Tulsa Police Department Most Wanted fugitive Monday. He had been scheduled to appear in court Sept. 19, but failed to do so.

Gee also had an outstanding Okmulgee County warrant for failing to appear on an aggravated assault and battery charge.
