An Illinois man died after a collision on Interstate 44 early Friday.
Carl M. Grometer, 33, of Oswego, Ill., was driving west on I-44 near Big Cabin in Craig County at about 4:30 a.m., according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Grometer's vehicle ran into the back of a travel trailer that slowed to exit at Big Cabin. Troopers said that Grometer was "apparently sleepy."
Grometer, who died at the scene, was pinned for 30 minutes, according to the OHP.
The driver of the travel trailer, Sean Cosper, 42, of Chouteau, was not injured in the collision.
Both Grometer and Cosper were using seat belts, trooopers said.
