13-16 overall, 8-8 C-USA

Catching up: With Thursday's 76-63 victory over Houston, the University of Tulsa women closed their regular season with records of 13-16 overall and 8-8 in Conference USA. After a 2-5 start in conference play, the Golden Hurricane executed an impressive turnaround. In its final nine games of the regular season, TU prevailed six times.

Player to watch: In the final Reynolds Center contest of her career, Hurricane senior guard Taleya Mayberry totaled 18 points on 6-of-16 shooting, along with five rebounds and five steals. When Mayberry and the Hurricane next play, it will be in a Conference USA Tournament first-round game, set for Wednesday at the Convention Center.

Notes

Solid finale: Before Thursday, TU averaged 17 turnovers per game. Against Houston, the Hurricane committed only nine turnovers while shooting the ball extremely well - 8-of-16 - from 3-point range. Kadan Brady and Kelsee Grovey were a combined 7-of-11 on 3-point attempts. Brady had 18 points, while Grovey contributed 14 with four assists. Tulsa had a 30-7 advantage in bench points.

Setback in Alabama: On Sunday, Tulsa lost 59-45 at UAB. The Blazers had a 44-26 edge in rebounds.

"We just didn't play very inspired," Hurricane coach Matilda Mossman said. "... It was obvious that it meant something to UAB, because they were playing like it mattered, and our kids weren't playing like it mattered."
