Letter to the Editor: Enjoy it while you can

The laws regarding smoking in public places have changed dramatically in the past 30 years. We've gone from where a person could smoke anywhere, to now almost nowhere. The current smoking laws, passed by the Legislature a few years ago, would appear to address the concerns of both smokers and non-smokers.
There are a limited number of bars and restaurants in the Tulsa area where smoking is allowed. The vast majority of bars and restaurants do not allow smoking.
Both the Tulsa World and Gov. Mary Fallin appear committed to having the laws of the state regarding smoking changed to be even more restrictive. It seems inevitable that at some point the laws of the state will be changed, making smoking illegal. Once that happens, what "vice" will the Tulsa World and Fallin target next? Alcohol, soda, fast food?
Don't laugh. Thirty years ago, I couldn't have imagined the rules on smoking being what they are today. Enjoy that cold beer, non-diet soft drink and greasy hamburger while you can.
