Marion Louis Horacek was born October 7, 1937 and left us to be with God on March 13, 2013. He was born in Red Rock, OK, to Louis and Marcella Horacek. He graduated from Kiefer High School in 1955. He hitchhiked from Perry, OK to Stillwater, OK, to attend Oklahoma State University for one year. In 1956 he joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served until 1960. In 1960 he left the U.S. Air Force and accepted a job at AT&T where he worked for 37 years. In 1960 he was introduced to Jessie, his wife of 51 years, by his mom and her mom at church. He married the love of his life on May 27, 1961 in Sapulpa, OK. He was blessed to have two baby girls: Brenda in 1963 and Tammy in 1965. During his life he lived and worked in Sapulpa, OK; Forrest City, AR; Yukon, OK and Tulsa, OK. He returned to Oklahoma in 1977, where he operated computers for long distance telephones for AT&T in Oklahoma City. Because education was so important to him, he earned his Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1993. We were SO PROUD! The joy of his life was his family. He adored his 5 grandchildren: Jerry, Katelyn, Trey, Addie and Hannah, and cherished every minute he had with them. Preceding him in death were his parents; his in-laws, Jess and Theresa Guilfoyle; and one brother, Bill Horacek. He is survived by: his wife, Jessie; his daughters, Brenda Faulkner and her husband, Keith of Edmond and Tammy Niles and her husband, Jason of Yukon/ Mustang; five grandchildren, Jerry and his wife, Auyko, Katelyn, Trey, Addie and Han- nah; three siblings, Jerry Horacek and his wife, Carol, Larry Horacek and Phil Horacek and his wife, Liz; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Bayouth, Johnette Green and Charlotte Horacek; and many nieces and nephews. His greatest accomplishment was caring for his family and friends and serving the Lord. Although he had not been able to attend the Catholic Church in several years, his faith was very important to him. He attended Mass until he was no longer physically able. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice and The Lakes Nursing Home for the special care given in the last months of his life.
