Alan Soper
Age at disappearance: 22

After graduating from college , Soper left home with the intention of traveling the country with truck drivers. When he last called his family on June 8, 1974, he said he was in Sacramento, Calif. His wallet and clothing were found near Needles, Calif., in 1977, but he has never been found.
One theory centered on the possible involvement of a man who was convicted of killing three people, including a brother and sister whose bodies were found in the general area where Soper's clothes were found.

On March 26, 1978, the decomposed, partially clothed bodies of Jacqueline and Malcolm Bradshaw were found beside a dirt road a mile west of Interstate 15 and 13 miles south of Barstow. The siblings had been hitchhiking from Las Vegas, Nev. In 2004, William Zamastil, who was already in a Wisconsin prison for a rape and murder there, was sentenced to serve 25 years to life in prison for the Bradshaws’ beating deaths.
