Hi Cary - I wanted you to be the first to know that Jason Yeager was actually born in Tulsa in 1979. His mom moved the family to Grand Prairie when Jason was 3 years old, but his aunt, uncle and cousins live here in Tulsa. The grandmother to whom he dedicated Moon River was the most wonderful person you could ever know and she also raised her children, Jason's mother and his aunt, right here in Tulsa. In fact they both went to Union High School.
You could be the first person in the media to report this exciting news about our own Jason Yeager so I hope you use the information kindly, as I remember Jason very fondly. I was motivated to write to you after seeing your earlier remarks about him. I'm sure you didn't know he was a Tulsan by birth. And I'll let you in on another interesting fact: he has a natural blonde streak in his hair, just like his aunt. The stylists at American Idol may have thought it would be interesting to highlight that natural occurrence.
Was shocked with Alaina's removal on Idol. Kady should have been the one to go. Overall the talent is good but my bets are on David Marcheleta to win if he stays as consistent as he has been. He has all the qualities to be Idol. Can't vote as I am at work at that time but watch it the moment I get home even if it is 1:30 in the morning.
Alaina was talented but I said from the first she wouldn't make it. She looked like Carrie, sounded like Carrie and hailed from the same area as Carrie. However, she wasn't quite as good as Carrie. People like to pick a favorite and I didn't think people would vote for an "almost as good as Carrie" performer.
Will someone please tell me I'm not the only one who believes Paula Abdul has completely lost it? She wasn't as bad tonight with the women, but with the men on Tuesday night she was so spaced out it was embarrassing. All she does is repeat most of what Randy has already said, but she tries to say it in a different way and just keeps fumbling around for the right words that never materialize. Simon tries to cut her off when she starts rambling, but it's no use; she just won't shut herself up. You can tell she's trying so hard to say something eloquent, but it's simply not in her capacity. She seriously needs help.
I think Elaina could have come up with something a little more clever than "she does not want her food to touch"----That made her look like an airhead..and a wanna be Carrie Underwood! Gives Blondes a bad name!!
David Cook is easily the best thing about Idol this year; bags of talent AND charisma. Definitely the real deal, it's just a shame I can't vote for him from the UK! I think it would be a poisoned chalice for him to win the show though because I would imagine he'd be trapped in a very restrictive record deal, and I mean can you imagine the hideous winner's single they'd want him to release?! But he will without a doubt get signed by someone after this...and hopefully tour the UK someday...I can but hope...
Here's a great fan site for DAVID COOK! It's got some of his preIdol music and a really funny list of 201 reasons to vote for DC. It's even got tshirts for sale and all the money will be donated to DC's favorite charity The American Cancer Society. Check it out. I bet it makes you laugh.
I can easily see the "top 3" being David Cook, Michael Johns, and David Archuleta as they are each immensely talented but have totally different singing styles and audience appeal.
If I had to choose the winner it would have to be David Cook as he has audience-grabbing charisma that appeals to persons of all ages, his singing style is unique enough to make people remember the song the way he sang it, and I think when he finally "lets himself go" on stage he will have everyone in the audience frezied and on their feet. Last, but not least, I think David is capable of becoming a music legend whether he wins IDOL or not. Grandma K
David Cook is going to be the next American Idol!! Paula has her moments, but she was right the other night. Is it just me or is anybody else really really tired of Jason Castro?! He is so goofy. He seems to sing the same way to every song, and he is constantly vying for camera time with that goofy look on his face. He should have gone home last night, due to both lack of personality and talent, NOT Brooke!!
I don't think that David Cook will win American Idol... I'm just not impressed with the whole "rock" thing... I mean, he's ok... But, I know that David Archuleta has alreay won the competion!!!!! I think that Alaina had a beter chance of winning Idol, than David Cook does... I actully feel that David Cook will be sent home in a shocking esposide of Idol tommrrow (5/7/2008)... But, of course. I won't be shocked... and if he does win, for some strange reason.. I think he would be the lowest-selling Idol winner of all time... even selling less albums than Taylor Hicks... and we all know that Taylor sold like 2 albums... David Cook just won't stand-up to the challenge & rise-above... He would be a lost-Idol, among past winners like Fantasia Barrino, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood & Jordin Sparks... nobody will remember David Cook... sad, yet true.... but, I DO LOVE THE FACT THAT WE ARE BOTH FROM OKLAHOMA!!!! Best of luck David... you'll need it!
Chris, No offense, but, are you stupid or something???!!!"David Cook would be a lost idol, among Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood"!!! HAve you been living in a cave somewhere? Carrie and Kelly are doing quite well for themselves, thank you very much. As for Jordin and Fantasia, no not so much. Jason is going home tonite because he sucks and so does his singing!!! David and David will be the final two, and if Archuleta wins,it will only be because those darned 12 yr olds have some fast little fingers from all that texting!! But, David Cook will still do just fine. Does the name Daughtry ring any bells?
Just as I predicted a week ago, David Cook is in the final two!!! Wooo Hooooo!!!!! Danita, you are another smart woman, like myself. I really hope "Cookie" will come back to Tulsa and play the Grey Snail, or maybe Cain's ballroom for his loyal Tulsa fans after he wins next week.
Someone send him my way for his portfolio and album photos at DawnFisherDotCom He is hard to get a hold of these days. We may witness another Daughtry incident but David Cook won't have any problem being sucessful.
Both Davids were good last night but I think Archuleta will win. He fits the mold. Who died and made Simon Cowell God? I wish he'd stop saying who he thinks won. He's influencing the votes.
