I am not whining. The game we played against you doesn't even count. But the way your team and your coach acted to several of our parents does matter. That is what I am talking about as it relates to class. Plus, you WERE NOT the only starter in the last quarter. I went to Whitney and know many of the E.C. players who ARE starters and they played the entire game. So at least be honest!

WOW...alot of trash talk her, great team spirit but BA you should show it on the field more than just two games. You beat a team in week 1 that have beat BA 17 out of 22 years. Then you play a middle of the road Owasso team without their star player. All I am saying is slow down take it one game at a time before something happens to where you go back to being the old BA. I understand Lancaster is a great coach and knows how to get everyone in the community involved. Just don't hatch your eggs before they are laid.

Man I thought it would be a closer game and it seemed in the 2nd half BTW would come back. I'm happy my team won and I know that in Dec dont be surprised if we are in the 6A title game and BTW is in the 5A title game. Great atmosphere and i loved how both bands performed at the half, classy move Hornets. Good luck on your season BTW and now its on to Sapupla BA!

Good Win BA. You showed a lot of discipline and you have a great team, great band. Great all around school. I was still proud of my Hornets, even after getting banged up you fought hard and all those 2 way players showed serious heart. Great game too, it wasn't a sure thing till 3 minutes left.

Great game Hornets and BA. I loved the sportsmanship shown by both schools.
Playing with a fourth string QB for most of the game and coming out that good is pretty amazing.
Good luck to BA at state. Someone needs to take the title away from Jenks and Union for a change.
But for 5A, we're definitely making a sweep for state this year.

Oh man that is funny Comet411. You have never watched a BTW game or you would know that Michael Doctor is a tackling machine. I was at the BTW-BA game and Doctor must have accounted for at least 60% of BTW's tackles. On top of that, he pulled off an 80-yard touchdown run against a great 6A defense. He's the real deal, and noone on BK's team has his combination of speed and strength. He is the real deal.
BTW may not have beaten BA, but it was a great performance against the number one team in 6A using a fourth-string QB. BK does not match up at all with the Hornets as far as speed. Comet411 must not realize that this is a BTW team that ran the 5A #1 team off the field in consecutive weeks.
If Eric Bennett was healthy, this game would be over by the 2nd quarter. With him being hurt, I have to think BK might actually make a game of it until midway through the 2nd quarter.

BTW has to be the best team to watch this year. They don't go out every week and win pretty every week with perfect balance stats or looking like a little pro team , like the case in 6A (nothing wrong with that) but BTW can get it done with ugly stats like 4 fumbles 3/7 passes for 23 yards and then 267 yards rushing. They go out and play like a HS team but they still get it done. People question BTW saying that most of their big plays come from busted plays and it mostly just luck, but luck is something that happens at random , and it seems that almost every busted play for BTW turns out really well which would not make it random nor luck.

I love my school and i think we are doing great this season!!
Even with all the injuries we have had im still sooo proud of us!
I actually dont think we were over rated, we were definitely under rated.
Everyone thought all these teams, i.e Carl Albert & EC, were gonna beat us but they didnt!
We also held our own against BA who beat Union, the #1 team in 6a, without our starting quarterbacks!
We are doing fantastic!!

the only reason I would say Guthrie is the only team in BTWs way is because the style of Guthrie matches up so well vs. BTW. BTW is a speed team with a bunch of athletes, and Guthrie is a strong physical team who can pound it right at you. That is the best way to counter a speedy team, and guthrie does it as well as any 5a team. But I'm sure BTW can find a way to pull a W out of that game. It would be a good game though.

BTW is good but it will happen again like it always does to BTW. Someone will trip them up. Its no wonder they havent won a title since 84! Grove did it to them 5 years ago at SE Williams and Guthrie did it too. Union last year was expected but for some reason BTW always looks ahead to the next round and gets beat. Who knows maybe EC has learned their lesson about runnin their mouths and could upset BTW, or Lawton Mac.

The touchdowns & touchdown calling dont bother me at all. The announcer is sorry, and needs to be replaced with someone that knows football announcing for your great school, and move on! Listen Skiatook fan BTW's announcer was great during our game earlier this season. Broken Arrow beat BTW 24-14 and he was good to us just like he was to the hornets. Funny thing is he was telling our crowd where are next game was going to be played and then telling the same to BTW. Bottom line is he is an announcer for Booker T so dont you think he will be excited about them scoring? I did enjoy hearing him say, "The doctos is making a house call on that run!" Or when Broken Arrow sacked the BTW QB he said the QB was being treated rather rudely by a pack of Tigers! Sorry you guys lost but this guy was worth the price of admission! Tiger94- Where you there at our game" Not your game but Broken Arrows game with BTW and it was just like any game at BTW so Im told. He is just into the game and there are places worse than that. I agree with the comment above its not the announcer its the game my friend. How do teams go into stadiums with 100,000 fans and win? They focus and get the job done, is that whats lacking up at skiatook? You guys have a nice field and you need to work harder to get your focus on winning not the surroundings! Dont go off on another subject. Just answer my question. ! Hornet (comment #77-you said we need to be happy to score-well honestly, it was'nt that hard to score (4-touchdowns) as you say. And yes; some if not all of your starters, were in. BTW has a good defense but they can be scored on. And for the comment about our football program, we are doing just fine. We have some very good, home grown players coming back next year. We dont have to go all over over Tulsa to get our athletes. Dont tell me you dont because you do, and we all know it. Your season is over and I doubt you will be a threat to BTW, Bixby, or Kelly next season so here is to hoping you move back where you belong in class 4A. Skiatook is the only high school in the Skiatook school district. Booker T. is in a school district with 8 other high schools, and they also have to compete with the nearby suburb schools of Jenks, Union, BA, and Owasso to keep player in Tulsa. So how does Booker T. still get great players? Because it has a long tradition of excellence, a great school, and a storied history of churning out professional athletes.
Also, I don't think you realize that half of your touchdowns were scored against sophomores on the 3rd team defense. I was at the game, so don't tell me otherwise. When Booker T. is up 40 points in the 2nd half, their 2nd and 3rd team is ALWAYS in.
However, all that is irrelevant. What really matters is that you need to take a piece of your own advice, and "Deal with it and move on!"
Cause whining about Booker T's greatness isn't helping you.

Looking forward to seeing the baddest band in the land. We had the Langston band in Guthrie last week and I wish we could bring them with us. I have not been to a game at BTW since I was in school. I think this is going to the best game in 5A this year. I hope you get to see the fling squrile show.

BTW is going to be too much,in the end,for Guthrie. Too much speed,with the ability to pound the football. It doesnt hurt to pass the ball as well as BTW does either

Easily the best game in recent memory in my book. Apparently, Booker T. had some idea of what was coming up the turnpike, "real deal"! I'm a little dissapointed my Hornets didn't put away the game in regulation - god knows they had plenty of opportunities.
Looking forward to watching the Hornets hoist the gold ball 2 games from now!

I think it is fair to say Guthrie had chances to win in regulation too. It was a great game and I hurt with the rest of Guthrie. BTW is going to the finals because El Reno is not in the same class as the 2 teams that played today. I thought the BTW kids and fans were classy and I had a great time until the very end. We will be checking it in for the year and passing out the basketballs.

Man it really just feels like this is the year for BTW to bring home the gold ball, after Guthrie missed that fieldgoal it just seemed like destiny. It was a great game by both team even tho there were some questionable calls against my hornets that called back 2TD's we still managed to fight through the storm and come out victorious. 2 classy and respectful teams tho the better team won. GREAT JOB HORNETS, now lets go beat El reno and then TAKE STATE!!

The game this past Saturday was AWESOME!!!!!! Both teams did a great job. I was working in the BTW concession stand for the majority of the game, but, when I came out I had the opportunity to see BTW recover a fumble only to have Guthrie recover the ball from a BTW fumble the very next down, and then a field goal attempt missed by Guthrie!!!! From there it was triple OT!!! Totally AWESOME!!!
Question - How many more games does BTW play before they advance to the finals? They play El Reno this week and then they play the winner out of the Carl Albert vs. Lawton game, correct? Please advise.

Well "dukerocks" I wouldn’t say I was totally wrong. I saw posts here talking about "beat the jays by at least 2 touchdowns, and to much speed for the jays to handle" The hornets bearly squeked by. I'm not going to argue about "take yo butt right back down the turnpike" because I'm sure you can't make me. The calls against Booker T. that brought back 2 touchdowns were so obvious they had to be called. I'm not going to blame the ref for calling a good field goal bad, because we shouldn’t have let it come down to a field goal, but it was good.. See it here: youtube . Com / guthriejays "no spaces" It was a great game. One of the best I have ever seen. I liked night train.. I thought he was very entertaining. I do feel like the better team lost Saturday, but that’s OK…. I will be rooting for BTW to take home the gold ball.

Guthrie dominated the Hornets offensively with 378 total yards to 225-yards.
kuzzo #8 do they teach english in Tulsa? If so you might think about taking that class. It may serve you well in the future.

1st off realdeal i bet money i can make you wit no questions asked.you are so right though the first touchdown that got called back was legit but that second one was not right.but hey what do i know im a referee myself.anyway it was one of the greatest games i had seen in a few years on all levels.if you wasn't there you missed a classic.now real deal i think we can agree on at least one thing.i think that game should have definately been for the championship.big ups to guthrie on a great game and im sure they will probably meet up again on the basketball court.Now hornets don't think just cuz you beat the defending champs its gonna get easier cuz carl abert aint forgot bout that woopin at the beginning of the year.stay hungry and you will hold up that gold ball

That was an AMAZING game.

Three of their main defensive linemen were out and they still pulled it out.

First of all I would like to say congratulations to the BTW Hornets and their fans. That was the best game I have ever seen. I think it was definitely the 2 best teams in 5a, unfortunately for the BlueJays it just didn’t go our way. We had our chances to put it away, but we just didn’t deliver. I felt like we should have thrown the ball more, but I always feel that way.
I had a good time at the game. I liked the announcer, I thought he was great.

I'm sorry that Guthrie is sorry, but you have to live with the fact that you guys had the ball at the one yard line and couldn't get in. Also, you have to look that you guys had 3 more oppurtunities to win the game in overtime even if you think that field goal should have counted (which god only knows since no one can definitly say it was in) and you guys had the ball inside the ten 3 times during REGULATION and still couldn't score, so don't believe that you got cheated because nothing could be further from the truth.

is it just me or does this high powered offense seemed a bit down the last couple of weeks? They haven't been putting up their usual point average like at the beginning of the season. Plus not to mention the number of stupid penalties has defiantly risen since Bennett has been back. Is this a cause for concern? The CA game wontbe anything like it was week 1, hopefully this offense knows that.

I think the biggest cause for concern, besides the growing number of illegal procedure penalties, is Eric Bennett's accuracy. Anyone who was at the game today saw him throw a lot of balls way off the mark. It's going to take more than a running game to beat Carl Albert.

The problem is the play calling(CH. FACTOR)you have the speed and talent at receiver positions throw the ball which will open up the run.They better go back to the game film of the 1st game against CA and get it right cuz CA aint gone be easy.In class 5A it is a fact that in order to win the gold ball you have to go throgh Carl Albert,Guthrie,or BTW.Lets get it together cuz this is the year.

Wrong. If it should have been, it WOULD have been! Booker T. beat ya'll fair and square so don't give us none of that "we got screwed" bs. Booker T. is NUMBER ONE and noone can dispute it.
The OSSAA rules clearly state that a kick that passes over the goal posts is NO GOOD. It's done, get over your loss and don't try to bring down our celebration with your insignificant whining.

Booker T. Washington has finally earned what they deserved from the first play of the season. Last year Booker T. left Union Stadium after a lopsided loss in the first round of the playoffs for the 2nd year in a row and after a 6-5 season, one of the worst seasons in the teams recent history. The players left that stadium with ONE and ONLY ONE goal to accomplish, a state championship. In the beginning of the preseason people started to take notice of this new force in the Division 5A of O.K. football. But people had doubts of how they would perform in the coming season, alot of analysts already sided with other great teams like Guthrie, Carl Albert, and East Central for the title. Many people were watching closely on the great prospects like the Guthrie QB and the Carl Albert RB leaving alot of Booker T. players in the shadows with alot of uncertainty.

But then came that fateful opening day of the season when Booker T. opened against Carl Albert, a game that many people picked Carl Albert to win, instead the Hornets put up 40 while Carl Albert put up 7 late in the 4th quarter...this was only the beginning. The Hornets would move on to crush the other contender for the 5A title East Central AT East Central. Even after a heartbreaking loss to Broken Arrow the Hornets would not give up their comitment from the last season to win the gold ball. They would go undefeated in district play, they would destroy their competition scoring 60 and even 70 points a game. Yet people still were sceptic about this teams run for a title. Booker T. would go on to defeat Bixby for the district title and then go on to win their first playoff game in two years.

They would go on and play one of greatest games of all time against none other then the Guthrie Bluejays and win in a triple overtime miracle. After winning the semi finals Booker T. had finally made it to it's bigest game since 2004...they would have a rematch with the Titans they defeated 13 weaks earlier. After an outstanding game form both sides Booker T. had done it, they proved and defined what a TRUE champion is. This season is an example, to NEVER EVER count this team out. A powerhouse has returned to 5A and it will never slow down, it will never stop, and it will NEVER EVER give up, because that's what Booker T. football is all about. The gold ball is back in north Tulsa where it belongs, and it will stay there for years to come, guaranteed.

Congrats BTW on a state title and an amazing season. As a Broken Arrow fan who went to the BA-BTW game I watched and thought that both teams would win gold balls in 6A-5A but we had some trouble on the road out west with Mustang. I was impressed with your defense throughout the season and look forward to BTW coming to Broken Arrow in week 3. We will make you feel welcome just as you did for us and good luck on the rest of your sports seasons. I feel BTW could contend for Basketball, Soccer and track state titles as well!

BTW was supposed to win state in 5A. Everyone's bragging about them winning state. As a former 6A BTW athlete, I couldn't imagine playing at a lower level and being proud of it. I would put an *next to the 08 state record. I hate that we've lowered our "Hornet" standards. I guess it's not the kids fault.

For the record, classifications (6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, A, and B) are not determined by toughness or rigor. These categories are determined by a school's ADM (Average Daily Membership). The 32 schools with the highest ADM are classified as 6A; the next 32 are classified as 5A; the next 64 are classified as 4A; the next 64 are classified as 3A. I don't know the cut-off for Classes 2A, A, and B...but OSSAA (Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association) classification is based upon school population.
As a third generation Hornet alum, I am not ashamed of BTW being in Class 5A...I figure that the enrollment @ my alma mater is being purposefully suppressed because of some sort of TPS politics.

Can you spell? Can you compose a comprehensible sentence? Memorial has practically ALWAYS been classified in the OSSAA's largest classification, and you all have won how many state championships in the high revenue sports?
BTW = 5 Football; 13 in boys basketball; 2 in girls basketball.
Memorial = at least 1 in football; at least 1 in boys basketball; 0 in girls basketball.
My sister graduated from Memorial...so I know what's really wrong at that school. Maybe you ought to find out...no maybe you ought to go to English class and figure out how to write.

P.S. Numbskull, Cascia Hall is a private prep. school. These types of school are known for having lower enrollments so as to mimic the academic settings of Ivy League colleges and universities like Colgate, Brown, Darthmouth, etc.
