James,How about your keep your comments to yourself. I'm from BA as well and yes it was a good win for the program but talking smack is not the way to go about it. If you haven't noticed we have only won 1 out of the last 22 meetings with Union. Also stop the smack on the Jenks page too. We need to worry about preparing for Owasso and moving forward.

You see Union is never original with anything. Their fight song is the one the University of Minnesota has had for years and the U on their helmet that showed up around 96? Miami had that since the late 1970's and their team shirts with the roman numeral V on the back for their apparent 5th state title looks like the V on the back of Fresno States helmet that represents the Valley in which FSU is in. Yes our trojan helmet is like USC and alot of others but we dont walk around saying that its OUR logo. UHS=Unoriginal High School! Oh and it will be over at halftime!!

LOL i never said our fight song was original its On Wisconsin and everyone has that one. Yes you do have to pay for your logo to the University of Miami as of a court case you lost in 2002! You guys cant do any research due to your red tinted glasses over there but its ok. Oh and why is this a rivalry? I mean in a rivalry the other team wins more than half the games and this series is 15-7 Jenks! Sure the games are close but you guys never win more than one, oh and i bet its frustrating with us having 12 football titles to your little 4. I mean if you look at the titles list you guys arent even close to us its just Jenks and Ada!!

especially 2003 union would of won the title if they werent for injuries
they were down to their 5th string RB
and it was zac snieder who had a torn acl and played
and if coach wright wouldnt of came in and union would of hired spavitah
union would be on a 4 title streak
goin for there 5th this year
and for the BA game
its the QB's first start
u think he might be a little nervous
expect him to calm down at home
and theres been a year for jenks where they started out 0-3 and won state
so dont count union out
remember first 3 games dont count towards anything
union and jenks will be #1 seeds and the playoffs and meet up in state and union will win
they got way too much talent to lose any games this year

great game played by both teams
it about killed me when jenks tied it up and then union missed the 40yd field goal to win
it hit the post
everyone thought it was good
unions QB looked alot better this week
still alot of room for improvement
unions defense is amazing

I told you jenks was overrated! yeah they came back and made it close but think of what if union had'nt had those breakdowns in their secondary.. it wouldntve been close, so good win redskins!

It's great to see Union beat Jenks, back in the mid-80's jenks had no chance. I haven't played for union in over 20 year, but still follow.

It is good to see so many parents so involved in their children's sport lives. How involved are they in the off season? No matter who wins each team member worked hard and should be proud of their efforts.

Someone needs to explain to me how Trimble can continue to get away with fake injuries in order to get a free timeout. Surely the refs aren't so dumb that they don't know what he is doing, especially when Trimble runs out on the field to tell a player to go down and the coaching staff has to remind the player to limp off the field. Come on............

no i mean our U. ours uses different colors. the reason we must pay 1,000 dollars a year to use the logo is because miami is petty and they patented the font. If usc had chose to patent the design on their helmets jenks would be forced to change or pay up as well.
Btw, I enjoyed the jenks "blowout" of Union on friday lol. cocky teams lose games...and that's what happened friday

Wow could this game be a view of wat could happen in the playoffs. union had one heck of a game it seems jenks can talk the talk but obviously can't back it up. jenks has too many hot headed players that got a little too cocky and that caused them the game. Congradulations Union

A couple of observations from the Jenks Union game:
Union played a great game but also had the benefit of most of the calls.(can be expected at home) but they needed that great game to win.
Jenks played a horrible game full of penalties, turnovers, missed turnovers etc. But still almost pulled it off in the end when they put Marsaln in at then end of the 3rd qtr.
Rematch I favor Jenks b/c they looked like the stronger team that had a bad game and I don't think that will happen in the playoffs.
Last thing, union playing blaring loud music up until the jenks offensive snap ever play was the most classless thing I have ever seen in high school sports. Can't even believe that's legal.

okfootball, if you've never seen it before then you don't go to many away games. Try going to a lawton ike game sometime....they play even when the play's in progress. But here's a little known fact: as a player YOU DONT HEAR ANY OF IT. I don't even remember hearing the crowd, let alone music on the PA system. So.....i would say not classless.

mike it all has to do with ur position-
if ur not one of the guys who has to listen to the qb then u block out all the noise, but if ur a center or on the line u hear it all

In the position I played I had to make calls and listen for calls. My buddy, who played weakside offensive tackle, said he never heard a thing besides the QB, other lineman, and occasionally when a receiver would make a call. If you're focused you shouldn't even notice crowd noise or music...there's just too much to think about
The first time I came back for a Union game as a fan after I was done playing I had to ask some people around me if they played music when I played because I never heard it.

I've played football (in this rivalry in fact) and normal noise is to be expected(ie. Crowd noise, the band playing during plays, etc...) but this was blaring rap music out of the PA system. And after some of the false start penalties I caused you could see the lineman pointing to their ears to signal they can't hear.

Yeah...the PA guys were pretty classless. I did see the Union and Jenks players demonstrating a great deal of respect and class for each other. Maybe the fans don't...maybe the PA/Music guys don't...but I saw the players being competitive and respectful. That's at least what I saw. I'm sure someone else will say differently...

Kevin, I agree with you completely. The players and coaches on both sides showed nothing but class and respect for eachother. The Union AD should step in and do something about the PA no place for that.

no excuses here. I complimented Union on a good game. I readily admit they outplayed Jenks on Friday. I did say in my opinion Jenks looks like a stronger team that made more mistakes, and that I think they will win a rematch if there is one. Just an opinion not an excuse. And stating that the PA stuff was classless is not an excuse. That didn't win the game for union it just reflected badly on a bunch of really great kids and coaches from a great school.

yeah.. I agree I think that jenks would win in a rematch.. but I dont think there will be one. Most likely there will be a rematch of BA vs. Union in the playoffs and then a rematch of BA vs. jenks in the state finals.. and that will be a good game. If union wants to make it to state their line will need to step up and their defensive backs will need to pay attention the whole game not just a half or 3 quarters..

No, not an excuse. I was responding to your claim that as a player you don't hear things going on around you. For the most part that is true but no matter how zoned in you are you can't hear a QB if the music blaring in the stadium is louder than your signal caller. As I said before this didn't change the outcome it just reflected badly on Union and was obviously distracting to the players as it was obvious that the PA people were trying to be distracting.

i think the false starts had to deal with unions crowd noise cuz it was pretty loud

The music did not change the outcome it was Classless, Busch league what ever you want to call it. Union won the game I gave them their props. If Union makes it past BA in the Semis then we'll see what the outcome is later.

I said that you made an excuse for your players committing penalties, which you did. They committed false starts and you said that was because the music was too loud and they couldn't hear. We'll just see how the season plays out. If you want to talk about hypotheticals then I see it just the other way. If Jenks finished their redzone drive then it would have a blowout in favor of Jenks. But it wasn't, Union outplayed us that night and won the game. But don't overlook Jenks we'll be there. You will see BA again but in the Semis b/c their not going to win at Jenks. Norman North I'll believe when they beat a Jenks or Union, b/c I think I remember hearing that they lost 14-0 to MWC in a half game scrimage. Good luck, and I really do mean that, I look forward to Jenks and Union in the finals, that's the way it should be!

i'm really not sure about this game, union squeeked out the win over jenks but has won their other games pretty well (excluding ba) but im also pretty impressed with owasso...

I want to see Union and Jenks play in the final game!!! Yeah BA is good but I like the tradition of the gold ball going to either Union or Jenks. I think Union can win it this year...even if Jenks isn't in the big game with them.
