CANCUN, Mexico — The Oral Roberts basketball team won easily Wednesday and dodged an injury bullet on the final day of the Cancun Challenge.

Everyone on the Golden Eagles' bench winced when junior forward Michael Craion took a blow on his knee and fell to the floor, writhing in pain. ORU had already lost three players with knee injuries.

"The thing that went through our whole staff was, 'No way this can happen to us again,'" head coach Scott Sutton said. "But once he got to his feet and started moving around, you could tell he was gonna be OK. So that was obviously a good sign."

Freshman guard Hunter McClintock and redshirt freshman forward Tim Morton have been lost for the year with knee injuries and junior point guard Roderick Pearson missed both games in Cancun after hurting his knee in Saturday's loss at Virginia. Pearson's injury is also believed to be season-ending.

Craion came back to score six points as the Eagles ripped winless Florida A&M 72-51 to square their record at 3-3 for the year and 2-2 in the Cancun Challenge.

Dominique Morrison scored 19 points, Warren Niles added 15 and Kevin Ford had 11 points and 12 rebounds, notching his third double-double of the season.

In his first collegiate start, freshman center Damen Bell-Holter scored the game's first six points, and finished with seven points and eight rebounds.

ORU led from start to finish against the Rattlers (0-6) and used a 12-0 run late in the first half to build a 36-20 margin at intermission. The lead crested at 62-29 on a 3-pointer by Ken Holdman with about 10 minutes left.
