Oklahoma State basketball player Nick Sidorakis will not require surgery to repair a knee injury that he sustained during a Sunday scrimmage. OSU officials indicated Thursday that the junior guard from Jenks will be out six to eight weeks.

Sidorakis was on crutches during OSU's winter sports media day Monday and said he had injured a patellar tendon. He participated in 33 games last season and his role increased at season's end. He logged double-digit minutes in five of the last seven league games.

Also, OSU coach Travis Ford said Monday that sophomore reserve center Teeng Akol is out with a fracture in his right wrist. Akol is expected to be out four to six weeks.

The Cowboys open the exhibition season with a 7 p.m. game Saturday against Central Oklahoma.

Nothing big here, Nicky was at best the sixth man. No big contributions from him. Too slow to be a good defender, OK shooter. Not a good ball handler

Yes it is BIG for two reasons. Nick was just coming into his own but most of all, you always hate to see college athletes have major injuries after all the work they put in before the season starts. My heart goes out to Nick.
