STILLWATER — Oklahoma State had four players in double figures and two with double-doubles in an 89-80 exhibition win over scrappy Central Oklahoma on Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

With bragging rights on the line back home, Edmond Santa Fe graduate Obi Muonelo — who is friends with many of the Bronchos players — had 23 points and 10 rebounds. Matt Pilgrim added 14 points and 13 rebounds in his first game for the Cowboys.

James Anderson added 23 points and nine rebounds. Pawnee graduate Keiton Page hit three 3-pointers to finish with 13 before leaving the game with 6:47 left after tweaking an ankle. Page did not return to the game.

Asked about the severity of Page's ankle injury, OSU coach Travis Ford said, "We don't know. I hope he doesn't miss any time."

OSU had a distinct advantage in rebounding (53-31) but missed 16 free throws.

"How in the world did we score 89 points?" Ford asked. "I thought our offense was absolutely horrible and our defense was pretty good until I looked at the stats. I was disappointed with some of the returning players.... I didn't like our attitude."

UCO came into Saturday's game ranked 17th in the NCAA Division II preseason poll. The Bronchos had four players in double figures, led by Chris Rhymes with 20 and Dauntae Williams with 18. Eric Cazenave had 15 and Tyler Phillips pitched in 11.

The Cowboys built leads of 16 in the first half and 18 in the second only to have UCO roar back to cut the deficit to single
digits. The first came on an 11-0 run in the final four minutes of the first half to pull to within 39-34.

The Bronchos rallied again in the final minutes to cut the deficit to single digits again.

"That's a product of turning (the ball) over especially in the first half," Ford said.

UCO coach Terry Evans said some of his players felt like they had something to prove.

"Three or four of them think they should be playing (at OSU)," Evans said.
