Dominating victory gives OSU the edge

Oklahoma State got its first good news Saturday with its 34-8 win over Iowa State. The Cowboys should have been almost as pleased later in the evening after Oklahoma's 10-3 loss to Nebraska.

After OSU's dominating win over the Cyclones and OU's deflating loss, there's little doubt which state team should be ranked higher in the polls. And with the way both teams played, the Cowboys should be favored to beat the Sooners in three weeks for the first win over OU in the Mike Gundy era.

OSU finds itself in sole possession of second place in the Big 12 South and in control of its bowl destiny. Wins over Texas Tech and Colorado in Stillwater and a victory at Norman in the Bedlam game would likely send the Cowboys to the Cotton Bowl — and give OSU its first 10-win season since 1988.

I don't get why the OSU fans are always talking all the trash. C'mon guys, OU is your neighbor. I'm an OU fan but will always route for OSU when they're not playing each other. But I'm sorry to say folks, historically you're just not as good as the Sooners no matter how bad you've wanted to be. OU will always have the better teams and that's just that.

It's fine to feel good about having a better record than OU this year but why boast about it and down OU when the fact is that the Sooners are in a rebuilding stage with a new QB and new line. I mean, what's the sense? Please use a little bit of common sense and realize that next year or maybe the year after is a different year and it will be back to OU on top. That is just the way it is.

Enjoy this year folks and congrats so far.

I'm afraid it's too late for that Steff. You might want to learn to use your space key after sentences before pointing out misspelled words. You really make yourself look foolish when you point out errors that someone made and make errors yourself in your post. lol

This article sounds like it was written by a trash talking OSU fan. Many OSU fans were pulling for an OU victory this past Saturday and most are wise enough to know that edges, polls and spreads don't mean much during Bedlam.

Thump that chest hard, Poke fans, but a brilliant defensive effort against ISU ain't gonna mean much against anyone else.

Aren't all you Joke fans glad to have Romeo "routing" for you? Is it good to know he will always be there to map out your trips? Plus, he gave you a little history lesson to boot. What more could you ask for? Please don't judge us all by guys like him.

I doubt we are favored against OU. I don't care what they records are. Playing in Norman is always tough. With that said, let's worry about getting past Tortilla Tech first.

TMS, I'd love to go to the Cotton Bowl. It's the next best bowl to a BCS bowl.

Besides, I know a lot more fans would be able to go to the Cotton Bowl and represent our Pokes well than any other bowl....including myself.

OSU wasn't concerned whether OU won or not. They are concerned with beating OU when that game comes up. However, who wants to go to the Cotton Bowl. Let's go where the weather is nice.
