STILLWATER — Oklahoma State got its stiffest test of the young college basketball season, allowing North Texas to get as close as two points near the midpoint of the second half. But the Cowboys rode their four most consistent scorers — James Anderson, Obi Muonelo, Marshall Moses and Keiton Page — to pull away for a 82-68 victory Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Anderson, Muonelo, Moses and Page have scored in double figures every game this season.

Anderson scored 30 points, his most ever at Gallagher-Iba Arena, in OSU’s previous game. He scored 25 points this time. Muonelo and Page scored season-highs of 17 and 13 points, respectively. Moses had 10 point and finished a rebound shy of this third consecutive double-double.

OSU improved to 3-0. North Texas suffered its first loss of the season and dropped to 2-1. The Mean Green has won 20 consecutive games each of the last three seasons and was chosen as the preseason favorite in the Sun Belt Conference’s West Division.

UNT guard Josh White, younger brother of former Oklahoma guard Quannas White, scored 25 and 23 points in games against OSU the last two seasons and entered with a career scoring average of 25.3 points against Big 12 opposite. He flirted with the second scoreless game of his career, failing to register a point until making two free throws with 3:34 left. He made his only field goal with 1:14 remaining to finish with four points.

OSU coach Travis Ford shook up his lineup and started Page for the first time this season. Page started 12 games last season, but suffered an ankle injury in an exhibition game and came off the bench in the first two games of the regular season.

Moving from starter to the bench was foul-plagued forward Matt Pilgrim, who scored nine points despite landing in foul trouble again. He didn’t enter the game until the 9:42 mark of the first half and he picked up his fourth foul at 14:28 of the second half.
