David Collins, a 6-foot-6, 254-pound defensive end from Bearden, Ark., announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Friday.

"It is an easy decision because it is a great school," Collins told GoPokes.com. "They have a great football team. I feel in a couple of years I can be starting or contributing and helping them a lot."

Of the 26 high school recruits on OSU's 2010 commitment list, 16 are defensive players.

Collins reportedly chose OSU over the University of Tulsa, Louisiana Tech, and Arkansas State. He had corresponded also with Arkansas, Texas Tech and Ole Miss.

Verbal commitments are non-binding. Recruits may sign national letters of intent in February.
