NORMAN — Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford underwent a 35-minute operation on his right shoulder Wednesday morning in Birmingham, Ala.
“Dr. (James) Andrews said it was just as expected,” said Sam’s father, Kent, who watched part of the procedure. “It all looked great in the end and everyone seems to feel very good about it.”
Bradford, who was eating and resting comfortably by mid-afternoon, is scheduled to return home in the next 24 hours.
“We look forward to getting him back in Norman so that we can help assist with recovery and rehabilitation,” OU coach Bob Stoops said.
Bradford has said if his rehabilitation goes as expected, he will bypass his senior season and make himself available for next April’s NFL Draft. He sprained the AC joint in his throwing shoulder in OU's season-opening loss to BYU Sept. 5, then aggravated the injury on his second series against Texas Oct. 17.
