Sports Editor Mike Strain’s blog: Top 25 Q&A. OU is out. Is OSU overrated, underrated or about right?

For the first time since early in the 2005 football season, the University of Oklahoma has fallen out of the Associated Press Top 25 rankings.

Oklahoma fell from No. 20 to out of the ranking after a 10-3 loss to Nebraska on Saturday. The last time the Sooners dropped out of the top 25 was after a Sept. 17, 2005, road loss to UCLA.

OU had been ranked in 60 consecutive Associated Press top 25 polls before dropping out in the rankings released today, according to appollarchive.com.

The Sooners streak started after a Holiday Bowl win over Oregon following the 2005 season.

Oklahoma is 5-4 after the loss to Nebraska and faces Texas A&M (5-4) at 6 p.m. Saturday in Norman.
