OU unranked for first time since '05
OU's Tress Way (left) watches one of his three misses against Nebraska on Saturday. Stephen Pingry / Tulsa World

Comparisons to the 2005 season have been made for Oklahoma's team all throughout 2009. Now there's another.
After losing 10-3 at Nebraska on Saturday, the Sooners are out of the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since that season.
OU was No. 20 going into the Nebraska game. But five interceptions by Landry Jones, three missed field goals by Tress Way and a handful of other mistakes cost the Sooners any chance of winning.
Oklahoma had been ranked in 60 consecutive AP polls dating to the Sooners' 2005 victory over Oregon in the Holiday Bowl — also the last time OU won a bowl game. The Sooners started that season at No. 6 (they started this year No. 3) before losing to TCU (this year to BYU) and fell out of the poll after losing at UCLA (they lost this year at Miami).
OU (5-4) will try to regroup this week with a 6 p.m. home game against Texas A&M (5-4).

"Same thing everytime we have a off season!!!!were are the OU fans at? The real fans , Not just when they are good.... OU will be back.... OSU still along way from being a year in year out team like OU. OSU HOW MANY CHAMPIONSHIPS DO YOU HAVE IN FOOTBALL..... ALL THAT NEEDS TO BE SAID AT THIS POINT."
I beleive Oklahoma State is still doing better than OU. Stop living in the past. Live in the NOW!

Well, at this point I think OU should just give the win to OSU. Just this year though. Too many injuries this year.
They should hire the coach from BTW, they know how to get stuff done over there.

Gotta love all the attention. So a team is not allowed to have a down year? OU can still have a losing season, but probably won't. NU is a top 5 defense and OU had twice as many yards as NU did. Stoops isn't the one throwing the ball or kicking it. If Tress would have made 2 more kicks OU would have won. Gotta give props to the NU defense for a superb game. Oh and all the people saying Stoops needs to pack it up, you're on crack. OU is one of the best teams of this decade. It is rare that OU plays the spoiler against OSU and of course OSU isn't even in title contention anyways. Another thing, do you honestly think that OU will not bounce back next season??

The Crimson & Cream goggled activity on this site was very predictable, sit back and watch the Fans beat each other up. Actually thought it would have reached this scale by week 7 though. Without one quality win to date what does OU have to put on the mantle, don't act surprised by falling to 32. I ask; who needs spell check with Steff M on board. Completely misses the facts in order to correct spelling mistacks...Remember, got to win 6 or you don't even get to see Shreveport.
See Yaahh-

The best thing about being a Sooner fan is not caring whether Stoolwater U wins or loses.
At least the Sooners can generate the emotions of hate and love because of their long tradition of winning.
Real Sooner fans would never flash the Hook'em Horn under any condition.

I have to say seeing TCU, Cincinnati, Boise State, Houston, BYU, South Fla. Utah and Stanford in the top 25 shows that there is something brewing I have never seen before. Saturday was completely nuts. I am sorry I missed all of it. Its a good thing for college football.

i love it when the aggies have a good season, which isn't very often. their fans come out of the woodwork and start hooting and hollering about how good they are and how bad the sooners are and all they can really say is. . . .hey, we'ns beat y'all 17 out of the last 116 games. it was just like ole what's his name that coached the aggies a few years ago and won a couple of games against the sooners and made the mistake of saying the sooners have a good team, or so we're told'. if i remember correctly, he and the rest of his 'team' got their @$$&$ handed to them something like 52-9 by the sooners. oh well, they'll always be able to say in a few years from now, 'hey, we'ns beat y'all 17 outta the last 130 games'really good legacy, i'd say.
