Come early and stop by Lloyd Noble: The OU basketball team opens its 2009-10 season with a 1 p.m. tipoff against Mount St. Mary's.

Bring a jacket: Temperature at kickoff should be around 60. It won't be too windy, but there is a 20 percent chance of rain.

Help out: Josh Heupel's 14 Foundation is holding its annual food drive, with a goal of providing 10,000 meals for Thanksgiving. Proceeds benefit families in Sand Springs, Okmulgee, Stillwater, Oklahoma City, Kingfisher, Enid, Ada, Ardmore and Norman. Volunteers will be stationed outside the stadium gates to accept cash donations.

Honor our veterans: A Veteran's Day celebration includes special recognition of U.S. Army 1st Lt. David Wright, a former OU track hurdler who was killed in Afghanistan Sept. 14.
