OU: 3 storylines
A look at three key things to watch in today's OU-Texas Tech contest.

When Ryan Broyles (above, against Texas A&M) or DeMarco Murray surpass 100 yards rushing or receiving, Oklahoma is 5-1. MIKE SIMONS / Tulsa World

Go get him

Whoever is quarterbacking the Red Raiders — Taylor Potts or Steven Sheffield — the Sooner front seven must restrict the passing lanes by getting in the face of the passer. The book on Texas Tech says you can't do it, but this Sooner defense started its fantastic run by doing exactly that against Red Raiders senior Graham Harrell last year in Norman. Tech has the Big 12's best pass offense, OU has the Big 12's best pass defense.

Jones Stadium

Sure, that's the name of the facility that Texas Tech plays in. But Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones can make it his own if he can just avoid bad decisions and bad throws. Jones hasn't played well on the road yet this year, and for the Sooners to win a road game, he'll need to. Of course, it starts up front, where Tech shares the Big 12 lead (with OU) in quarterback sacks. The Sooner blockers need to keep him clean.

Murray and Broyles

Jones' best hope for success lies in the fleet feet of DeMarco Murray and Ryan Broyles. When Broyles or Murray (or both) surpass 100 yards (rushing or receiving), the Sooners are 5-1. When they don't, the Sooners are 1-3. The return of LG Brian Simmons and WR Brandon Caleb from injury probably would go a long way toward a victory for the Sooners, as well.

Ya right, OU has the best pass defense in the Big 12 nah...why.. Oh, they are good but the best? Look at the offenses that OU has played this year. Not one top 10 passing offense. And, if they expect their run game to keep them alive...they must have thought the same of Texas...negative yardage..they lost. The key to the game is how hot the Tech quarterback is....Tech's coaches are excellent and will have a great game plan. The same can be said of Potts and Stoops. No one stops a hot passing game no matter how good the opponents defense is.

Ha ha ha....right again. Sorry but OU never showed up. The defense was ripped by Potts and the OU running game was anemic. Even Techs running game gave OU fits. OU was lucky to score. Well thats the way the mop flops...sorry to hear another offensive lineman bites the dust. That is not cool.
