TU proposal nixed

A proposal for three additional games with the University of Tulsa has dissolved, but the Oklahoma State football program has finalized two-game contracts with Purdue and Air Force.

The Cowboys will visit Purdue in 2013 and host the Boilermakers in 2016. The OSU-Air Force contests are set for 2015 (Colorado Springs) and 2016 (Stillwater).

Dave Martin, OSU's associate athletic director, also acknowledged that he has discussed with Kansas State officials the possibility that the Cowboys and Wildcats -- members of the Big 12 Conference -- could meet in nonconference, season-opening games in 2013 (at Stillwater) and 2016 (at Manhattan).

In the 2013 and 2016 seasons, Kansas State is not on OSU's conference schedule. For conference members to meet in nonconference, regular-season games would be unprecedented. The idea is intriguing, Martin said, ''because you bring in a quality opponent, you get a good crowd and it's an easy travel game for both schools. We've talked about it, but nothing has been signed.''

OSU and TU have an agreement for football games in 2010 (Stillwater), 2011 (Tulsa) and 2012 (Stillwater), and for basketball games in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Martin and OSU athletic director Mike Holder recently presented to TU a proposal for three additional football games (2015 in Stillwater, 2016 in Tulsa, 2017 in Stillwater), along with four additional basketball games.

A TU spokesman confirmed that Golden Hurricane athletic director Bubba Cunningham has rejected the proposal. TU does not want to schedule games that deep into the future, the spokesman explained.

Good move by Bubba. Why accept a 2 for 1 deal with an inferior opponent? But seriously, OSU is no longer that much better than TU that they can get what they want without some kind of negotiation.

Good move for TU! Oklahoma's Sorry University isn't as superior as they would like to believe! And with their recruiting of child molesters, TU would lower their standards by going to Stoolwater more times than playing in Tulsa. Bet TU draws more in Stoolwater than the Hair Farce. Play the Aggies only on a home and home! Goooooooo TU! Someday the Aggies will beg TU to go to Stoolwater! Hope TU says we have nothing to gain by playing the Rapists!

I understand TU has future games with Texas Tech and Iowa State. So who needs a backwater game in Stoolwater, about as dreary place as there is in all the state!! TU plays the likes of high class teams like Navy and Army, so what does adding the Aggies gain. Play one game in Stoolwater and two in Tulsa.
