Kelly given second shot at tryout
By JOHN E. HOOVER World Sports Writer

Ex-OU star to run again Wednesday.
Malcolm Kelly will get another chance to impress NFL scouts.
University of Oklahoma spokesman Kenny Mossman said Kelly will run the 40-yard dash again on Wednesday, presumably on AstroTurf, after running 4.68 and 4.75 last Wednesday.
After his workout, Kelly sounded off about the setup, particularly a perceived lack of loyalty to him by "certain peo ple" on the OU football staff. He also criticized the OU training staff for misdiagnosing an injury that kept him out of the Fiesta Bowl.
Kelly was upset because he and OU strength coach Jerry Schmidt agreed he would run his 40s on the AstroTurf of the Mosier Center instead of the Field Turf of the Everest Center, on which every other OU football player has worked out for NFL scouts the last two years.
Sooners in previous classes had their pro day in the Mosier Center, but the event was moved because no NFL teams play on AstroTurf any longer and the Everest Center better simulates the surface at the NFL Scouting Combine, where nearly 300 players work every February.
Schmidt said the Mosier Center, adjacent to the Everest Center, was set up for Kelly to run, but NFL scouts requested that Kelly run on the Field Turf instead, and Kelly agreed.
Schmidt said NFL scouts will add from .10 to .15 seconds to any time Kelly runs on AstroTurf. Kelly could not be reached Sunday for comment.
During an interview on KTBB radio in Tyler, Texas, Kelly on Thursday apologized for his lack of tact in the aftermath of his disappointing workout last week, saying, "I should've went to the guy I was mad at rather than put it in the media like that. That was a mistake on my part."
He also acknowledged he wasn't "as prepared as I should've been," and he wanted "to make one thing clear: I'm not blaming anyone for the time that I ran."
He also said during the radio interview that he would "be a Sooner when they put me in my grave" and the incident is "not going to affect my allegiance to the program."

bo who, vian should go bury his head in a hole and never come out. I am sure you have cried about something in your life that didn't go your way as well as coaches, teachers, administrators, corporators, etc. Remember how people talked about President Boren when the game didn't go our way with Oregon because someone called a wrong call. Was he a cry baby? NO, just doing what he had to do and what he believed in. You and everybody else that are throwing stones at Kelly are pathetic!

Boren may not have been a crybaby about Oregon, but there was not 1 article written that season about OU that did not complain about that game. Most OU fans whined about it with every mention of football. I'm married to an OU fan and he even got tired of all the complaining an whining!

Married to an OU fan? Then you should be an OU Fan. OU guys need to start making better relationship decisions. Just my opinion.

I agree with #5. Once you marry into the trailer park you should definitely be a Gooner fan.

Dont worry #4 not everybody wants to be stuck up like all of ous fans... Every ou fan is the same, they think they are just gods among men. But honestly they have a rude awakening for them.
