UPDATED: OSU's Terrel Harris suspended indefinitely

Terrel Harris Tulsa World File

Oklahoma State basketball player Terrel Harris has been indefinitely suspended for violating team rules, announced new coach Travis Ford in a press release issued Wednesday by OSU’s sports information office.

The rules violation was not specified and no comment from Ford was included in the one-sentence press release.

If Harris is cleared to return, he and Byron Eaton will be the Cowboys’ only fourth-year seniors next season. Harris and Eaton met with the media after Ford was introduced as the new head coach last week and, at that time, Harris said he was looking forward to playing in Ford’s up-tempo system. “It will benefit me,” Harris said. “It will benefit our whole team. We’ve got a lot of athletic, long players and a lot of guards that can get out and run and it’s going to benefit everybody.”

Harris wound up in former coach Sean Sutton’s doghouse almost exactly one year ago. On April 21, 2007, he was arrested for trying to use false identification and for obstructing an officer.

Sutton met with Harris and the player’s family members last offseason in an attempt to get Harris to be a more consistent performer

BOY!!!! If New Homer could just do the same with Head Homer Holder (THE GOLF GUY) OSU might pull out of this plane wreck. On second thought, why take the fun out of this and what in the world would I do if they ACTUALLY FIXED the REAL PROBLEM. LOL ‘GOD

to #1. The plane wreck comment was pretty much in bad taste, wouldn't you agree? Please think before posting in the future.

Beijing! Anyways, it's good to see that he's setting the tone, but I'd be kidding myself if I didn't think smoking the Mary Jane wasn't already prevalent in most sports. If it's not that Mary Jane, I'm still glad that Ford's enforced the rules.

How could somebody be so ignorant as to leave a comment so senseless and terrible. #1 Anyways, I cannot imagine what this guy could have done, why jeopardize it? OSU isn't have very much fortune lately and it does seem a little glim but who know's? Only time will tell.

who cares if OSU lost a player they are still going to be the third best team in the state behind OU and ORU
OU is going to be a top 15 team next year so no one comment that OSU is so much better than OU

#7, OSU hasn't had much fortune lately? Come on, what about Pickens. No sympathy here. All their troubles this year are self inflicted.

#8, typical OU homer. Top 15 huh. Did you forget that impressive performance in the NCAA tournament?

we have 8 quality players to rely on, yeah top 15, don't even start about me as an OU homer, every year in and out OSU thinks they will win the National Championship in basketball and football, but the fact is that OSU is not that good at either of those sports, OSU has finished ahead of OU twice since the creation of the Big 12 so don't even try to say that they are a better rencent basketball program (Big 12 has been around for 12 years) and Eddie Sutton is and will always be over-rated, yeah he won a lot of games, first he's been coaching forever and second he never won a national championship (which defines greatness)

OU homers give new meaning to "sac attack". Bar owners need to start checking your fingernails as well as your suspended driver license before serving you Shirley Temple's. Losers.

"It will go down in history that Burns Hargis and Travis Ford will be the two best hires we've made in the last 50 years," Pickens said after speaking at an energy conference sponsored by Oklahoma State's Spears School of Business.

The above is taken from another story in todays paper. Wonder why ol Boner said that? It's because he hired both of them. But one person ol Boner just trashed was his boy Gumby.....

Oh by the way Boner, Travis Ford will never reach the hights of Eddie Sutton

Overzealous OU fans are moronic! I would not boast so extensively until OU actually does something worthy of praise. As far as Im concerned, along with most sports analysts, OU has choked repeatedly in basketball and Football in recent years. Hello, Boise State, USC, etc. Yes, OU competes, but lately has not been anything short of overated! Not to mention that most of the smack talkers from OU, never stepped foot on that campus, let alone hold a degree. SO, I guess consider the source of the above quoted comments.

It's funny how these comments degenerate so quickly into "hatin" on each other. I generally separate UO fans into two categories. First, alumni who are usually not too bad because they know what it's really like. And second, the goobers and rednecks who claim UO because they've "always been fans". What they mean to say is that they like UO football but could care less about ANY other sport or accomplishment of the university. The second group is to be taken for the ignorant wannabe's that they are and ignored.

GO POKES!

I am an OSU alum, as is my brother, my father and my mother. My father took a job at the University after I graduated so my parents now live in Stillwater. Our family bleeds orange just as much if not more than anyone else out there. But I agree with #14, there is no reason that this thread should be about our stupid state rivalry. I have been to more Bedlam games than I care to remember, and yes, both sides treat the others like dirt, BOTH SIDES. But this story is about a player who has meant a lot to this University and how sad it is that he cannot keep it together, now, when his team needs him to stand up and be a leader. Surely everyone in the state, OU or OSU can understand that.
