Boy's: first team

HOW THE TEAM WAS SELECTED



First, nomination forms were e-mailed to all schools in the Tulsa metro area. Coaches were asked to nominate players on their own teams and on other teams.

Players from grades nine through 12 were eligible. TulsaWorld sports writer Eric Bailey made the final decision on All- Metro selections.

Thomas Shannon



Broken Arrow • Senior

University of Memphis recruit had 15 goals and 14 assists as a senior. Completed his four year career with 43 goals and 29 assists.

Jason Brooks



Union • Senior

Defense sparked Union’s 11-2 season, with Brooks leading a unit that had 11 consecutive shutouts and allowed only three goals all spring.

Scott Chevaillier



Cascia Hall • Junior

The Commandos’ drive for three straight state titles have been part of a junior class including Chevaillier, who came through with big goals at critical times this season.

Paul Girod



Jenks • Senior

Forward was the top scoring threat in the Trojans’ surge to the Class 6A semifinals and finished with 14 goals and 8 assists.

Christian Loya



B.T. Washington • Senior

Midfielder was a senior captain of the Hornets’ state title team. Loya’s final statistics included seven goals and 11 assists in 2008.

Lucas Massoth



Metro Christian • Senior

Forward put up lofty numbers (21 goals, 19 assists) for Metro Christian, which saw its season end with a playoff loss to Cascia Hall. Massoth had goals in both playoff games.

Lucas Miller



Union • Junior

Midfielder was the Redskins’ chief offensive threat last spring and finished with a teamhigh 15 goals and two assists. An injury kept him out of a semifinal loss to Norman North.

Sam Miller



B.T. Washington • Senior

A U.S. Naval recruit who missed much of the regular season, but was a driving force in the Hornets’ state title run with 15 goals in his final nine matches.

Max Moller



Bishop Kelley • Freshman

Forward helped guide Comets into the 5A state championship game by notching eight goals and passing 10 assists on the season.

Cody Mumma



Jenks • Junior

Jenks coach John Timmons calls Mumma one of the best he’s had in 31 years of coaching. Mumma posted 10 shutouts for the Trojans in 2008.

Austin Neil



Broken Arrow • Senior

Forward was a scoring machine for the Tigers, with a team-high 25 goals to go along with five assists. Neil will play for the University of Tulsa in the fall of 2008.

Price Pinkerton



Cascia Hall • Junior

Completed a junior year that began with a football state title by scoring two goals in the Class 4A title win over Oklahoma Christian.
