HOW THE TEAM WAS SELECTED
First, nomination forms were e-mailed to all schools in the Tulsa metro area. Coaches were asked to nominate players on their own teams and on other teams.
Players from grades nine through 12 were eligible. Tulsa World sports writer Eric Bailey made the final decision on All- Metro selections.
Katie Bykowski
Bishop Kelley • Senior
Goalkeeper is the two-time Tulsa World All-Metro Player of the Year after allowing just seven goals over the past two seasons. Will attend the University of Tulsa next fall.
Sarah Brown
Jenks • Senior
Midfielder was a dominating force, scoring seven goals and setting up teammates to nab 14 assists. Brown will play at Oklahoma State.
Hillary Cockrell
Union • Senior
Midfielder knocked home four goals (including the game-winner in the 6A title game) and six assists for two-time state champion Union. She will suit up at Drury in the fall.
Jessica Hall
Claremore Sequoyah • Senior
Forward/midfielder, netted a team-high 19 goals and dished five assists for Class 4A semifinalists.
Katy Kashwer
Broken Arrow • Senior
Forward headed to Central Oklahoma, helped guide the Tigers to a top 10 national ranking by scoring 13 goals with nine assists.
Kristin Kelley
Bishop Kelley • Sophomore
Helped lead a potent o]ense, scoring 18 goals and handing out 17 assists to aide her unbeaten team to a 10th consecutive state title.
Caitlin Martin
Union • Senior
Defender was a stabilizer on the back end. Martin helped organize a stingy unit that posted 11 shutouts. She will play soccer at John Brown University.
Melinda Mercado
Sapulpa • Senior
Oklahoma State recruit orchestrated the o]ense for Sapulpa. Center-midfielder banged in 11 goals in 12 matches.
Amy Petrikin
Bishop Kelley • Sophomore
Forward led the Comets with 22 goals and added nine assists in her team’s 18-0 season. Petrikin is one of three Kelley players with a team-high 53 points.
Johanna Sheppard
Metro Christian • Senior
Sweeper anchored a defense that helped guide the team into the Class 4A state title contest. Had six goals from her position.
Alex Starrett
Bishop Kelley • Sophomore
Another of the dynamic sophomores for Kelley, Starrett ended with 20 goals and 13 assists. The midfielder had the game-winning goal in the 5A title win over Washington.
Claire Walker
B.T. Washington • Sophomore
Team came close to capturing its first state title thanks to players like Walker. Forward had 16 goals to lead the 5A runners-up.
