JENKS — Class 6A No.2 Jenks scored on four of its first five possessions, rolling past Bartlesville 50-13 to extend its winning streak to six games.

The Trojans’ offense included one-play touchdown drives of 42, 30 and 52 yards in the first half.

Grant Goodwin burst up the middle for a 42-yard score to get Jenks untracked.

Colton Dost went 30 yards on his first carry for another Trojan touchdown.

Sophomore quarterback Sawyer Kollmorgen, making his second start, found Jarrett Lake for a 52-yard touchdown reception and Cory Jones added a 3-yard run to cap off a seven-play drive.

The defense got into the act with a safety as Jenks led 30-0 at the half.

“We only had nine offensive plays in the first half,” Jenks coach Allan Trimble said. “So, we were pretty efficient. It’s tough to get into a groove when you don’t get many snaps, but when you got into the half up 30-0 there’s not much to complain about.”

The first-team defense pitched a shutout as Bartlesville’s late scores came against the Trojans’ second-team unit.

“The defense played really well especially for as many snaps as Bartlesville had,” Trimble said.

“We got after them early,” said Gabe Lynn. “We pursued really well.”

Jenks rolled up 224 yards on the ground, led by Goodwin with 98 yards on four carries. Dost added 60 yards on four attempts and Jones finished with two touchdowns on six rushes.

Kollmorgen was 5-for-8 passing for 113 yards. Bo Marsaln was 1-for-1 for 15 yards. “Grant and the guys ran really good and that opened up the passing game,” Kollmorgen said. “Grant is a good runner and he blocks really well. Colton goes hard all the time and when Cory bounces outside, he’s gone. I had a few jitters for my first start at home, but I shook them off. ”

Jenks (7-1 overall, 5-0 District 6A-3) added 20 second-half points, including 5-yard run from Zach Langer.

Bartlesville avoided the shutout with a pair of late touchdowns. Quarterback Kirby Schoenthaler capped off an 80-yard drive, with a 1-yard score and after a Jenks fumble, Airon Durant scored on a 22-yard run.

The Bruins (4-4 and 2-4) drove 72 yards on their final possession of the first half. But the drive ended at the Jenks two-yard line as time expired.

On the drive Schoenthaler was 8-of-9 passing for 56 yards. But the Trojans knocked Mike Thompson out of bounds at the Jenks 2 to end the drive.

Schoenthaler was 22-of-35 passing for 207 yards with one interception.

Clay Jenkins led Bartlesville with 10 receptions for 93 yards.
