Two familiar names in NASCAR will compete at Outlaw Motor Speedway on Monday night, while the Toyota Tundra ASCS Sizzlin' Summer Speedweek series makes its annual stop at Creek County Speedway.

Kenny Wallace and Ken Schrader are scheduled to race modifieds at Outlaw Motor Speedway, six miles south of Muskogee on U.S. 69 in Wainwright. They are part of a tour of NASCAR drivers who make appearances at local tracks all across the country, getting back to their dirt track roots.

In five Sprint Cup starts this season, Schrader has 298 points and stands 49th. In Craftsman trucks, Schrader is 36th with one top-five finish. His best season came in 1994 with a fourth-place finish in the Winston Cup Series. He has four Cup victories, including two in 1991.

Wallace has one Sprint Cup start this season and 18 in the Nationwide series, standing 19th with 1,713 points.

His best year came in 1999, when he placed 22nd in the Cup series with three top fives and five top 10s.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with an autograph session at 6:30. Grandstand tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 6 to 12. Pure stocks, hobby stocks and E-modifieds also will compete on the program.

Meanwhile, a full field of sprint car drivers will converge on Creek County Speedway, five miles west of Sapulpa on Oklahoma 66.

Gary Wright and Gary Taylor lead a strong field. Wright will try to regain the American Sprint Cars on Tour national points lead after winning the second Speedweek stop at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., on Saturday night.

Taylor won the opener Friday night at Sixty Seven Speedway in Texarkana, Ark.

Wright, the perennial ASCS champion, passed Zach Chappell of Talala on the 13th lap and led the rest of the way in the 30-lap event in Little Rock, the 100th event in Speedweek history. Points leader Jason Johnson finished second behind Wright.

Johnson entered Speedweek on a hot str+eak, winning $6,000 with a victory in the Ollie's Challenge at Ohio's Eldora Speedway last Tuesday. The win makes Johnson eligible for a $50,000 bonus if he can top the final leg of the Ollie's Challenge in Pennsylvania on Aug. 19.

Expected to join Wright, Johnson, Taylor and Chappell at Creek County Speedway are state drivers Wayne Johnson of Oklahoma City, Kenneth Walker of Sapulpa, Nick Smith of Broken Arrow, Aaron Berryhill of Broken Arrow and Matt Covington of Glenpool.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with races starting at 7. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and children ages 6 to 11.
