Earning respect: Collinsville has moved up to fourth in Class 5A despite this being the Cardinals' first year at the second-highest class in softball.

The ranking is a show of faith for the former 4A powers.

"We aren't playing a 5A schedule," said second-year head coach Mike Henry.

"We moved up after we had done our schedule. But we played some 5A and 6A teams in summer league and these 5A schools have a lot of respect for 4A teams. They know if we are winning, we have to be pretty good."

Collinsville boasts a .331 team batting average, led by senior Lindsay Curtis' .492 average. Junior infielder Lacie Cook is hitting .430 and Jessie Henry is batting .400.

Kylie Cole, the pitcher of the year last year in the Tulsa 7 Conference, is back in the circle.

Eagles soaring: Claremore Sequoyah is 5-0 in Will Rogers Conference and 12-7 overall.

Sophomore Amy Harrison hit .417 in the Mustang Tournament last week, going 5-for-12.

Other players contributing to the team's success are seniors Katrina Loy and Alyssa Freiling and sophomore Bailey Erwin.

Loy is the team's top hitter at .479 while Freiling is batting .340.

Bailey is a two-year starter in the circle and has seven shoutouts.

Moving up: Tahlequah moved into the Class 5A rankings this week at No. 14.
