Bill Koch covers the Bearcats for the Cincinnati Enquirer. He writes about how coach Brian Kelly sees his team's big opportunity coming up at OU on Saturday:
University of Cincinnati football coach Brian Kelly certainly hasn't been reticent this week about how much he's looking forward to playing No. 4 Oklahoma.
He has compared it with the UC basketball team playing at Duke or North Carolina.
During his weekly press conference Tuesday he described the Sooners as perennially one of the best programs in the country, a team that will provide an accurate barometer for him to gauge how far his program has progressed.
At times, he seems almost giddy about playing the Sooners on Saturday in Norman.
"This is fun," Kelly said. "This is what you do this for. You want to coach a team to go to Oklahoma. You want to go into that environment. It doesn't get any better than that.
"If we're going to be here 80 hours a week and I'm going to miss my kids' football games, I'd like to prepare for a game like Oklahoma. It's what keeps us in this business, to go in and challenge yourself against the best."
