Greg Johns covers Washington for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Johns writes about the Huskies' youth and how they hope to combat OU Saturday:

In all, nine true freshmen have played in Washington's opening two games, a startling number for a major college program. And now comes Oklahoma, the sternest test yet for the baby-faced Huskies in their sink-or-swim start.

"We're not intimidated," said (Kavario) Middleton, the 255-pound tight end out of Lakes High. "We just look at it like another opponent we need to knock down. Ranked whatever they are, we feel like we can compete with anybody in the country."

The Huskies pups took a big leap forward against BYU, even in defeat. Heads weren't spinning quite as fast as against Oregon. The game slowed down, the heart rates evened out and athletic ability began emerging from the cloud of confusion that hung over Autzen Stadium in Eugene a week earlier.
