Brown and Murray both top 100-yard mark as OU runs for 274 yards.

SEATTLE — All this talk about a leaner, faster Oklahoma offensive line, and the Sooners threw their weight around Husky Stadium all Saturday night. All this talk about OU's sleek, pass-happy no-huddle, and offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson's first six plays were runs.

"The players took the field in a strong way," said victorious coach Bob Stoops, "and played really physical."

It worked out pretty well, the Sooners' decision to come out and overpower their opponent. The 55-14 final score indicated that. So did OU's 274 rushing yards. And here are two more numbers indicative of Saturday's mismatch — 107 and 100, or the yards racked up by tailbacks DeMarco Murray and Chris Brown.

The last time OU put two backs in triple digits on the road was Nov. 13, 1999, when Quentin Griffin and Reggie Skinner smoked Iowa State for 126 and 116, respectively.

The Sooners dominated a team they should have that day in Ames, and went the same route Saturday. Their offensive line outweighed the Huskies' front four by 497 pounds, and their game plan followed suit. They came out in the I-formation, their best runner, Murray, behind their best blocker, Brody Eldridge.

Five carries and 41 yards later, OU was at the Washington 10. Only then did Sam Bradford take flight and complete a 13-yard touchdown pass to Juaquin Iglesias.

The Sooners' second scoring drive began with Brown's 25-yard run to the right. Their fourth was launched by back-to-back 11-yard runs by Brown, this time going left. Before halftime, third-stringer Mossis Madu took his turn to pound away, carrying 12 yards to the Husky 1 before plunging in from there.

That made it 34-0 at halftime, when the only disparity greater than the score was the two rushing totals: 188-39.
