Moore's big moment: Oklahoma defensive tackle Cordero Moore was a 2005 redshirt. He played sparingly in '06 and a little more in '07 when he recorded two tackles and recovered a fumble in mop-up time against Utah State.

Moore made another stop in the second half of last Saturday's blowout of Washington, when he replaced injured DeMarcus Granger in the Sooners' four-tackle rotation. Now, with Granger out a least a month with a foot injury, Moore has a chance to make the biggest impact of his career.

But what kind of player is he?

"Cordero has what Coach (Jackie) Shipp likes to call 'quick twitch,' " defensive tackle Gerald McCoy said. "He's real quick off the ball. He'll come on and play the nose, and as soon as that ball moves, he's going to be hitting that center."

Said Shipp, OU's defensive tackles coach, "He has an opportunity to reach those goals he had for himself coming to the University of Oklahoma. I know he wants to be successful. I know he wants to do a good job. Now he has that stage to do it."

Can he do it?

"We'll most definitely find out here pretty quick," Shipp said.

Bradford enters Heisman race: The Internet version, anyhow. OU quarterback Sam Bradford leads Missouri's Chase Daniel among the five-person panel registering votes on CBSSports.com. Over on ESPN.com, Big 12 blogger Tim Griffin slots Bradford fourth behind '07 Heisman winner Tim Tebow, USC quarterback Mark Sanchez and Daniel. Gene Menez of SI.com gives the early nod to Daniel, with Bradford second and Tebow third.

Writes Menez: "The task of separating Daniel and Bradford (Does Daniel benefit from having better receivers? Does Bradford have a better offensive line, running game and defense to get him the ball?) could go into early December when the Big 12 title game is played."

Coop it up: If the offensive line set the tone for OU's punishing performance at Washington, Jon Cooper set the tone for the line. The senior center led the way with 15 knockdown blocks while continuing to help Bradford direct the Sooners' whirlwind offense.

"He graded out high. He had very few misses. Mentally, was perfect," coach Bob Stoops said. " 'Coop' is managing that whole no-huddle with Sam. There's not an errant snap. I don't know that we had a false start all night. Jon's a big part of that with Sam, managing the O-line and snapping the ball. And there was a bunch of noise."

Can't we forget about hyping the Heisman for another month or so? It is ridiculous. These writers are obviously hurting for something to get excited about. Boring.
