Mercedes Mayer covers TCU football for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Mayer this week produced a list noting TCU's five biggest wins in eight seasons under Gary Patterson. The Horned Frogs' 2005 triumph at OU ranks No. 1:

TCU 17, No. 5 Oklahoma 10, Sept. 3, 2005: The Horned Frogs, coming off a 5-6 season, stunned the Sooners, who were coming off a loss in the national championship game. The win "took us to a different level," Patterson said.

No. 20 TCU 12, No. 24 Texas Tech 3, Sept. 16, 2006: Two years after getting throttled 70-35 by Texas Tech, the Frogs stifled one of the nation's most potent offenses. The victory also extended TCU's winning streak to 13 games, the longest in the country at the time.

TCU 37, No. 17 Louisville 22, Nov. 23, 2001: In Patterson's first season, the Frogs were 4-5 heading into the game. The Frogs scored 14 points in the opening 1:56 to defeat Louisville, and then beat Southern Miss the next week to land a spot in the Galleryfurniture.com Bowl.

TCU 23, Utah 20 (OT), Sept. 15, 2005: In the Frogs first-ever Mountain West Conference game, they snapped the Utes' 18-game winning streak. TCU was coming off an upset loss to SMU five days before; Utah won the Fiesta Bowl the previous season.
