Offense: B-

Of all OU's great receivers in the past 10 years, none were ever better than Manuel Johnson, who caught five passes for a school record 206 yards and scored TDs of 76, 55 and 63 yards. Sam Bradford, who had four TDs and set a career-high with 411 yards passing, was hurried and hit way too often, and the offensive line couldn't open any running lanes. Jermaine Gresham had a TD called back on OU's third play, then never saw another throw come his way.

Defense: B+

Three times in the second quarter TCU threatened to mount a scoring drive, and three times the Sooners came up with turnovers. The Horned Frogs leaned on the run but couldn't generate any offense on the ground. TCU's short passing game worked well, but the Sooner defensive line and an occasional blitzer got pressure on QB Andy Dalton. Most impressive of all was a minus-4-yard possession after a long kickoff return and Cory Bennett's fourth-down sack on a trick-play reverse pass.

Special teams: C+

Another kickoff, another big play for the other team, this time a 75-yard runback by TCU's Aaron Brown that led to a field goal. Only one kickoff reached the end zone. With the OU offense challenged for the first time all season, Mike Knall's punts (especially one that went out of bounds at the TCU 1) were important.
