Stoops today: OU coach says Granger's foot injury is improving

Audio:
Listen to a one-minute answer from Sam Bradford talking about the differences a year makes. He says he doesn’t get rattled as much as he did last year as a freshman and mentions a few games in which he felt like he was out of his comfort zone last season.
Audio:
Listen to Sam Bradford’s seven-minute Q&A session with the media Tuesday. The interview starts with Bradford answering a question about the Heisman Trophy race.
Audio:
Listen to coach Bob Stoops’ 20-minute Q&A session with the media Tuesday.
NORMAN – Oklahoma defensive tackle DeMarcus Granger's rehab from a foot injury at Washington is "doing good," and Granger "may be able to practice Monday," Sooners coach Bob Stoops said Tuesday during his weekly press conference.
Granger sustained a detached tendon in his foot when three Washington blockers dog-piled him just before halftime in retaliation for Granger hitting a Huskies player who had false-started.
The week after the game, Granger opted to rehab the injury rather than undergo surgery, which would have ended his season.
"Reports are positive," Stoops said.
Stoops also said left guard Duke Robinson's absence from the lineup throughout the TCU game was not injury related and was "more of a disciplinary issue" that was "not related to a few weeks ago" when Robinson was benched for the Tennessee-Chattanooga game.
Other highlights from Stoops' press conference:
On being ranked No. 1:
"It's just a measure of what we've been able to do so far. I'm not going to sit here and act like it's horrible, but we're not jumping up an down."
On how he keeps his team focused on Baylor with the annual rivalry match against No. 5-ranked Texas looming next week:
"We're going to Baylor this week. We're focused on Baylor and Baylor alone."
On wide receiver Manuel Johnson's record-setting, 206-yard performance:
"It's exciting for Manny. He's worked hard. He has that kind of ability, and hopefully we'll see more of it."
On linebacker Ryan Reynolds:
"He's really the main glue in there for all those guys, alignments and getting the calls right. ... The other two guys (Travis Lewis and Keenan Clayton) haven't played much, and now they're in a groove and playing better and know what to do."
On if the secondary this year is playing better than the secondary last year:
"I don't think there's any question."
On linebacker Keenan Clayton:
"We don't have to call him a linebacker. We can call him a safety and say we play a 4-2-5."
