Middle of the action: Ryan Reynolds got off to an equally good start Saturday. The Sooners' middle linebacker made four tackles and kept good track of Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin to help keep the Bears off the scoreboard.

On back-to-back plays midway through the quarter, Reynolds shot in and stopped a Jay Finley run for no gain, then delivered a fierce shoulder-and-helmet lick on Griffin to drop the quarterback's keeper for a loss of two.

Reynolds wound up with 14 tackles, joining strongside linebacker Keenan Clayton for a team high. Clayton's 14 stops also represented a career high.

They've got guts: OU is now 6-of-8 on fourth-down tries this year after going 3-for-3 Saturday. The Sooners converted on fourth-and-1 from midfield early in the second quarter, as Sam Bradford fired a flat pass to Juaquin Iglesias for 3 yards.

It was easy pickings, considering Baylor put nine defenders near the line of scrimmage expecting a run.

OU converted on fourth-and-inches from the Bears' 3 on the opening drive of the second half. Chris Brown got the first down, then a touchdown, after fullback Matt Clapp's line-of-scrimmage lead block.

Bradford's 3-yard sneak got OU out of a third-quarter hole on fourth-and-inches from the Sooners' 27.

Line them up: Senior Branndon Braxton, typically the first lineman off OU's bench, stayed in Norman with a lower leg injury. Line coach James Patton kept his starting line of Phil Loadholt, Duke Robinson, Jon Cooper, Brandon Walker and Trent Williams, in for the first three drives. That helped OU build a 21-0 lead.

When Brian Simmons replaced Walker at right guard for the fourth drive, OU marched to another score and a 28-0 bulge.

The O-line helped the Sooners rush for 217 yards, 195 more than their total from the previous week against TCU.

"We've still got to be a lot better, but I thought the physical play was better than it was last week," OU offensive line coach James Patton said. "There's still more there in the run game. We've just got to clean it up. There's a lot more."

Movin' on up: Iglesias caught six passes for 133 yards to move into second place on OU's all-time receiving yardage list.

He has 2,112 yards, three more than Antwone Savage. Mark Clayton is OU's all-time leader with 3,241 yards.

Tricky stuff: The Sooners called a reverse for the first time this season, faking a handoff before giving to wide receiver Ryan Broyles during a first-quarter TD drive. Broyles gained 8 yards to put OU on the Baylor 7-yard line.

Stradford gone: OU freshman wide receiver Tyler Stradford was not at Baylor and appears to be finished at OU. He no longer appears on the Sooners' official roster. Stradford hasn't caught a pass since grabbing 27 for 483 yards and six touchdowns as a New Orleans O. Perry Walker High School senior in 2006. He joined Broyles and Corey Wilson as OU's wide receiver signees the following February. The Sooners added wideouts Jameel Owens and Dejuan Miller in this year's recruiting class, both of whom played Saturday.
