OU: Know The Foe

Looking back: Kansas put away pesky Colorado 30-14 Saturday with a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns. Quarterback Todd Reesing was 27-of-34 for 256 yards and a score, and the Jayhawks' defense came up with two interceptions and a safety. Coach Mark Mangino: "Things are starting to come together."

About the offense: Yet another spread attack engineered by yet another dangerous QB.

Reesing is the nation's 12th-most efficient passer, having completed 72 percent of his throws for 1,980 yards and 15 TD (versus three interceptions). KU's ground game had been slumbering before Jake Sharp woke it Saturday with 118 yards and three TDs.

About the defense: Jenks product Jake Laptad, with five sacks on the year, dropped Cody Hawkins for that safety Saturday.

The Jayhawks' front seven is strong enough to rank 12th nationally in run defense.

Their pass defense hasn't been as salty, although it made life miserable enough for Hawkins to get benched Saturday.

About special teams: Almost as big a problem as it is for OU. Colorado scored TDs after a 37-yard punt return and a 59-yard kickoff return.

Kansas is dead last, 119th out of 119, in kickoff returns.

The bright spot is kicker Jacob Branstetter, 6-of-8 on field goals.
