OU blasts off
Oklahoma is ranked No. 4 in the first BCS standings of the season.
The Sooners trail No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Alabama and No. 3 Penn State. OU is the highest-ranked team with one loss. The top three teams are all unbeaten.
The BCS standings have three components used in a formula -- the Harris Poll, the Coaches Poll and computer rankings. OU was No. 5 in the coaches poll, No. 4 in the Harris Poll and No. 4 in the average of computer rankings.
The Sooners improved to 6-1 with a 45-31 win Saturday over Kansas.
OU still sits at No. 4 in the Associated Press media poll. Texas was a unanimous No. 1 in the AP Poll after defeating Missouri 56-31.
Oklahoma State moved up a spot from No. 8 to No. 7 in the AP Poll. Tulsa, also one spot out of the AP Poll last week, jumped in at No. 22. It's the first time that OU, OSU and Tulsa have been ranked in the same week since 1945 in the Associated Press poll.

Alright TU! Finally in the top 25! Now OU needs to start taking it their opponents and OSU and TU need to just keep doing what they're doing and we'll all be just fine.

If OU wins out , could it be possible they have a rematch with Texas for the national title? I know it sounds crazy, and some teams such as AL and PSU need to lose, but I don't see USC jumping OU because their (whoopie) pac-10 schedule. The debate again will be OU not winning the big 12 title, let alone getting into the title game!? An OSU win in Austin would help also, they should be voted to no.1 if they can beat texas, with texas playing the way they are right now. Lots of good games left, its gonna be fun to watch and see how it all plays out.

This makes my head hurt. For OU to advance to the Big12 championship, Texas has to lose 2 games. The 2 most likely candidates to beat Texas are OSU and Tech. So now the Sooner nation HAS to root for the Pokes, probably not that hard. Anyone playing Texas is the fav in Norman. When is the OU/OSU Unity Rally??

In regards to kma comment, he missed the point entirely, I'm saying Texas doesn't have to lose all year. I'm just wondering if OU wins out, is it UT,OU no.1&no.2 at season's end if AL or PSU lose?
