Audio: Listen to a Q&A with OU’s Bob Stoops during Monday’s Big 12 football coaches’ teleconference. (approx. 10 minutes)

NORMAN — Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops pronounced starting wide receiver Manuel Johnson “doubtful” for Saturday’s game at Kansas State during his Big 12 teleconference appearance Monday morning. Johnson dislocated his elbow after making a 21-yard catch on the Sooners’ fifth play against Kansas last Saturday.

“He's doubtful for this week,” Stoops said. “There's no other issues around (the elbow). There’s a chance by the end of the week that he’ll be comfortable enough to play. But questionable this week, likely after that.”

Johnson is the Sooners’ second-leading receiver with 33 catches for 574 yards. His eight touchdowns are a team high.

Look for Quentin Chaney to start if Johnson can’t play at K-State. Chaney caught six passes for 105 yards after Johnson left the Kansas game.
