University of Oklahoma linebacker Travis Lewis has been named the Big 12 defensive player of the week.

Lewis, a freshman from San Antonio, Texas, had 15 tackles, two of them for losses, during a 58-35 win over Kansas State on Saturday.

Lewis also intercepted two passes and returned them for 55 yards.

Lewis is OU's leading tackler this season with 84. It's the second-highest total by a Sooner freshman linebacker. Brian Bosworth holds the school record, with 133 in 1984.

Lewis joins two other Sooners who have been named defensive player of the week this season -- Keenan Clayton against Baylor and Lendy Holmes against Kansas.

Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell was named offensive player of the week, and Tech's Matt Williams was special teams player of the week. Tech beat Kansas 63-21 on Saturday.

Lewis is a beast.
He's on track to possibly pass Bosworth's record.
Can't wait to see what this guy does the next couple years- another OU great.
