Stoops praises Tech quarterback in press conference
OU head coach Bob Stoops before the start of their game against TCU in September. MICHAEL WYKE/Tulsa World File

Audio:
Listen to coach Bob Stoops discuss the Sooners’ loss at Texas Tech last season and the implications of this week’s game in Norman.
Audio:
Listen to an eight-minute Q&A session with Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, discussing OU’s defense and the Red Raiders’ Saturday matchup with the Sooners.
NORMAN -- Bob Stoops has made it clear what he thinks of his Heisman Trophy candidate. “Sam Bradford, as far as throwing the football, you can’t get much better,” the Oklahoma coach said last week.
And what does Stoops like about the Heisman candidate he’ll face Saturday night, Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell?
“A lot,” he said during on the Big 12 teleconference Monday morning. “The guy has a thorough understanding in everything that they do, where his people are. He could virtually go back there blindfolded and point to where all his guys are going to be on every route. He just has a great feel for their system.
“He has excellent feet in the pocket to avoid people, and keep himself alive on the play and make throws on the run. And then just accurate and skilled when he throws the football. When he has what he likes, rarely is he not going to be on the mark.”

This is a great chance for the Sooners to shine. Both teams should be rested up, well and ready to go.

Tech also had a bye to prepare so that is kind of a wash.
