Another Bradford honor: Quarterback Sam Bradford is among 10 finalists for the 2008 Manning Award, which goes to the nation's top quarterback. Other finalists: Zac Robinson (Oklahoma State), Chase Daniel (Missouri), Nate Davis (Ball State), Graham Harrell (Texas Tech), Brian Johnson (Utah), Colt McCoy (Texas), Mark Sanchez (USC), Matthew Stafford (Georgia) and Tim Tebow (Florida).

The Manning Award is the only national quarterback award that considers bowl performances. The winner will be announced following the bowl season.

Happy anniversary: Stoops, with a 107-23 record, a 60-2 mark at home and five Big 12 titles, celebrated his official 10th anniversary at OU on Monday.

"I realized that at lunch today," Stoops said, reflecting back on Dec. 1, 1998. "It's hard to believe it's 10 years today. Standing right here (in the Switzer Center's Red Room) with the team that first day. That was a rough crew, that first one. But I love 'em. Those guys were great. They got us started."

Wilson a finalist: Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson is among five finalists for the Frank Broyles Award, given annually to college football's top assistant coach.

The winner will be announced Dec. 9 in Little Rock. Utah defensive coordinator Gary Andersen, TCU defensive coordinator Dick Bumpas, Ball State offensive coordinator Stan Parrish and Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong are the other finalists.

With OU's conversion to the no-huddle and the Sooners' record-breaking
productivity, OU head coach Bob Stoops can't imagine anyone having a better year than Wilson.

"Heck no," Stoops said. "Everyone should understand why. When you look at what we've done offensively, it's just incredible."

Wilson previously was a Broyles finalist at Northwestern in 2000, the same year former Sooner assistant Mark Mangino won it.

Scoring summary: The NCAA record for touchdowns in a season is 89, set by Nebraska in 1983. Oklahoma this season already has tied that record. This year's team owns the school record for points scored with 640. The previous mark was 601, set in 2003. The NCAA record for points in a season is 656, set in 2006 by Hawaii.

OU this season averages 53.3 points per game. The NCAA record for scoring average was 56.0, set in 1944 by Army, when the Cadets scored 504 points in nine games. The OU per-game record of 46.6 was set in 1956.

Yard stick: Against Missouri, Oklahoma's 2008 offense will become the most prolific in school history. The record for total yards in a season is 6,683, set in 1971. This year's edition sits at 6,680, just 3 yards behind. Last year's ranks third with 6,285. The 2003 and 2004 teams are the only other OU teams to surpass 6,000.

The current team also has a chance to set the school record for average yards per game. The 1971 team averaged 556.8 yards per game. Through 12 games, this year's team averages 556.7.

ESPN paid big for SEC broadcast rights. This means they have a conflict of interest when it comes to promoting and influencing people associated with the polls. It doesn't surprise me that they want to turn OK and TX fans against each other so they can keep up their true agenda of lifting the SEC to the top. OK and TX are better than Bama and Florida and should be reflected so in the polls. Just look at their computer rankings and the schedules.

It's especially bad because ESPN and ABC are one network that has a stronghold on Major College football broadcasts.

The entire ESPN network has become biased. Herbstreit specifically promoted Florida and the SEC. ITS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST!!!!!

Just Google "ESPN SEC Sign Historic Contract"
