Maybe the BCS can decide on the Big 12's best quarterback, too.

The Associated Press All-Big 12 team was announced on Thursday, and, like the South Division standings, it was a virtual tie.

This time, Texas quarterback Colt McCoy was chosen as the league's player of the year, but Oklahoma's Sam Bradford was named first-team all-conference quarterback.

A total of 20 writers (10 cover the North, 10 the South) cast votes for both first-team (two points) and second-team (one point). Bradford received 28 points (nine first-team votes, 10 second-team). McCoy got 27 (10 first-team, seven second-team). Texas Tech's Graham Harrell got the rest (one first-team, three second-team).

Earlier in the week, Big 12 coaches voted Bradford first-team All-Big 12 and offensive player of the year, while McCoy was second-team. McCoy was named All-American by the American Football Coaches Association. Both are finalists for several awards at next week's ESPN awards show in Orlando, Fla, and are considered frontrunners the Dec. 13 Heisman Trophy ceremonies in New York.

Bradford has thrown for 4,080 yards and leads the nation with 46 touchdown passes to go with five rushing touchdowns, and his 190.97 efficiency rating is on pace to set an NCAA record. McCoy has passed for 3,445 yards and 32 touchdowns, leads Texas with 576 yards and 10 touchdowns rushing, and his .775 completion percentage is on pace to set an NCAA record.

Bradford was one of six Sooners on the All-Big 12 first-team. That included three on the offensive line: Jon Cooper, Phil Loadholt and Duke Robinson. Defensive end Jeremy Beal and linebacker Travis Lewis also were picked. Lewis was the only freshman on first-team. Lewis, who ranks second in the conference in tackles and fifth in interceptions, also was voted defensive newcomer of the year.

Three Oklahoma State players wide receiver Dez Bryant, running back Kendall Hunter and offensive lineman Russell Okung made first-team, while offensive lineman David Washington, linebacker Andre Sexton and punter Matt Fodge were voted second-team for OSU.

A total of six Sooners (at seven positions) made second-team: tight end Jermaine Gresham, running back DeMarco Murray, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, cornerback Dominique Franks, safety Nic Harris and safety Lendy Holmes. Murray also was voted second-team as an all-purpose or special teams player.All-Big 12 list, B6
