Bulletin board material

Some of the feistier Sooners and Gators have spent the last two days filling their opponent's bulletin board. Here's a sample:

"(Tim Tebow) saying he wants to face a Big 12 defense... It's been great listening to all the comments they're making, but Jan. 8, we're gonna see. Everybody says that our defense is suspect in the back end, so hopefully he throws me the ball a couple of times."

OU cornerback Dominique Franks

"I'd say (Tebow) would probably be about the fourth-best quarterback in our conference."

Franks

"In the Big 12, the quarterbacks are great. I'm not a critic, nor would I be in position to rank guys, but I wouldn't think that (Tebow) is probably one of the top guys in the Big 12."

OU safety Nic Harris

"Absolutely. By far."

Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes, asked if SEC running backs are superior to OU's

"No. Because when we win, we don't want no excuses."

Franks, asked if it would help OU if Florida star Percy Harvin was less than 100 percent Jan. 8

"The more athletic player is mostly on offense in the Big 12. That's the way I look at it. We've got a lot of athletes in the SEC, most of them on the defensive side. They probably could move over to the offense and play a little slot or a little tight end. It'll be different for (the Sooners) when they see the speed of our defense."

Spikes

"They look real fast. I'm not worried about them being fast, though. That's not a key problem for me. I feel like we can run with those guys."

OU safety Lendy Holmes

"With us being in Florida and playing against Florida, everybody's going to think Tebow should have won the Heisman. But the right person won the Heisman, and we're going to go out there and show everybody the reason why he won it."

Franks

"I feel like whoever has the better defense will win this ballgame."

Who has the better defense?

"Florida."
