Former stars feel Sooners' pain
By JOHN E. HOOVER, World sports writer

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Brian Bosworth stood nearby, squinting his disappointment. Tony Casillas tried to hide his pain with laughter.
Thursday was a big night for Oklahoma football, past and present. But the 24-14 loss to Florida was felt by all of Sooner Nation.
"Disappointing. Big game for us," said former OU running back Adrian Peterson, now an All-Pro with the Minnesota Vikings."
"They just didn't capitalize on their opportunities," said former linebacker Clint Ingram, now a starter with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Just seeing Billy Sims on the field again made my chock up a bit. I really wish the Sooners had won that night. It would have been great talking to Billy about. Better luck next year.

OU will always be a BCS contender as long as Coach Stoops is there. There are plenty other teams around the country that wish they were playing in the BCS title game. This was a very dissapointing loss to a good Florida team, no doubt. But when you play in big time games and you don't take advantage of scoring opportunities in the red zone, you are going to get beat.Especially by a good team. There are many question marks about losing 5 BCS bowl games.Assistant coaches have changed, players have transfered, injuries.
When OU won the 2000 National Championship,we had the top assistant coaches in the country;Mark Mangino,Mike Stoops, and Mike Leach. In the eighties Barry Switzer had Mack Brown, Jim Donnan,
Gary Gibbs,John Blake,Bobby Proctor and Lucious
Selmon. It's difficult for Bob Stoops to keep good assistants, every year OU assistants are always the talk about filling so many head coaching vacancies. When a golden opportunity presents itself, you can't expect an assistant to turn it down. Assistant coaches have always played the most important role in a successful or a disappointing season.Playing in 5 BCS matchups is pretty successful. You are as only as good as your assistant coaches. The standards have always been high at OU, and we expect perfection and national championships every year. It's been that way since Bud Wilkinson and it will always be that way. Finishing 5th is very disappointing by OU's standards, after such a remarkable season, but that's why choose to play the best teams, and you can't always beat the best teams.

Can it be that they just lose to great teams? Why play the blame game? Why not just admit defeat and eat some delicious Crow pie.

Its 4:03 pm CST and OU STILL SUCKS!
What's the matter boys, no arrogant comments now that you all choked another big game.
P.S. That idiot yelling "boomer, boomer, boomer..." at the Heisman trophy presentation made an ass out of himself, the school, and Sam's win (which I will say, I don't disagree with...that guy is really good).
Of course, its par for the course at Chokelahoma.... You will lose again in Dallas to Texas.
P.S.S. What's the matter Bob, cat got your tongue know that you once again, choked another BCS game away?

Texas Vandy
1. OU won the Big 12 South - check
2. OU won the Big 12 Championship - check
3. Bradford won the Heisman - check
4. OU made it to the BCS Championship game - check
So where's Texas in this equation??? Oh yeah, sucking wind behind the OU greatness of this year. Big 45-35 deal. We won everything else that matters!
