Backfield picture: DeMarco Murray's already out this spring. Don't expect Chris Brown to get many carries. Even Mossis Madu will get some time off.

"I'm not interested in seeing Chris get banged around at all," said coach Bob Stoops. "In fact, the offensive coaches will have to talk me into tackling him. And I'll be honest, I want to limit ... how much Mossis gets. Because those other guys need a lot, and Mossis has proven to be a really good player for us."

That means OU's running plays this spring will fall to "those other guys," sophomore Justin Johnson and redshirt freshman Jermie Calhoun.

"Really excited about Jermie," Stoops said. "He's a wonderful young guy, has a great attitude and work ethic. He's had a really good winter. He'll get a lot of snaps. It's going to be a big building time for him.

"And Justin's made some good strides as well. Those guys will get a significant amount of opportunities here this spring to show they're the kind of guy that we can throw in there and take care of the football and pick up blitzes and do the things you want 'em to do."
