The New Tulsa World Sports Extra: For the latest scores, stories, photos and stats on OU, OSU an TU football, as well as the rest of college football.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- For an Oklahoma State team haunted by the memory of blown leads in road games, Saturday's most important possession occurred during the second period.

OSU had a 17-0 cushion when Nebraska drove to the Cowboy 10-yard line.

The O-State defense got a fourth-down stop as Andre Sexton and Jeremy Nethon combined to flatten Nebraska's Quentin Castille.

The Cowboy offense responded with a 90-yard, six-play drive, capped by freshman Kendall Hunter's 33-yard touchdown sprint.

"We did a great job of play-calling on that drive, mixing up a few runs and passes," Cowboy quarterback Zac Robinson said. "I remember sitting on the sideline when it was 17-0, saying, 'Hey, we've got to go punch it in right now. We've got to keep jumping on them.' That was definitely a big drive. It propelled us to 38 (points) in the half."

The 90-yard scoring drive -- completed in less than two minutes -- seemed to drain the hope both from the Huskers and their crowd. One week earlier, OSU led 17-0 before losing 24-23 at Texas A&M.

OSU’S 90-YARD SCORING DRIVE

First-and-10, Nebraska 33-yard line: Zac Robinson incomplete pass (intended for Brandon Pettigrew)

Second-and-10, Nebraska 33-yard line: Kendall Hunter 33-yard touchdown run
