Cowboy storms to 212 yards
Oklahoma State running back Dantrell Savage, with the help of a block by quarterback Zac Robinson, picks up several of his career-best 212 rushing yards during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s 45-14 blasting of Nebraska. The Cowboys rushed for 317 yards as a team and finished with 551 yards of total offense. MICHAEL WYKE / Tulsa World

The New Tulsa World Sports Extra:
For the latest scores, stories, photos and stats on OU, OSU an TU football, as well as the rest of college football.
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Dantrell Savage injured his groin during preseason practice. He was limited in a season-opening loss at Georgia and sat out the next two games with injury.
He isn't hurt any more. Since his return, Savage has been a beast, and Nebraska was the latest bewildered opponent.
Savage, a senior running back, pounded the Cornhuskers for a career-high 212 yards rushing in OSU's 45-14 win Saturday.
"Look at the energy he has out on the field when he gets tackled and gets up off the ground before the defender," OSU offensive co ordinator Larry Fedora said.
Savage, whose career-high rushing total was 134 yards last year against Texas A&M, had 148 yards by halftime.
"At that point, I was telling the coaches to put Kendall (Hunter) in and let me rest," Savage said.
Savage has eclipsed the 100-yard mark rushing in his four games back since the injury.
The last OSU running back to have four consecutive 100-yard rushing performances was Vernand Morency in 2004.
SUPERB SAVAGE
Since missing two games with a groin injury, Dantrell Savage has posted four consecutive games of more than 100 yards rushing:
Sept. 22 vs. Texas Tech:
25 carries, 130 yards, 1 TD
Sept. 29 vs. Sam Houston State:
15 carries, 115 carries, 1 TD
Oct. 6 at Texas A&M:
21 carries, 110 yards
Oct. 13 at Nebraska:
25 carries, 212 yards, 1 TD
